Panasonic dvd recorder model dmr-e55eb/ebl. played dvd,no problem - ejected dvd - green/blue colouring appeared on TV which disappeared when dvd recorder switched off. since then unable to play dvds. when dvd inserted machine continuously goes through 'reading disc' process. when pressing 'eject/open' no response. have to switch off recorder at mains and immediately press 'eject/open' to retrieve disc. tried various other discs - same problem. any ideas/suggestions. any help most appreciated. many thanks

Frank, try new cables and inputs if you can, cables or inputs could be faulty.

You need to hook the VCR and the DVD recorder to the scart connections on your TV.

VCR to one scart on the TV
DVD recorder to the other scart on your TV

Please check your Blue and Red component cables on both the recorder and your TV. One is probably loose.

According to the manual, i believe that this particular model takes DVD-R discs.

I have posted a tip that should help you out with your problem follow the link below but there is one minor variation for connecting to your TV.

On step 3 of the connections section substitute the follow for your situation.

You will need 1 component cable (Red/Blue/Green/Red/White cable)

3) Connect the Green/Blue/Red connectors to the back of the DVR labeled "COMPONENT OUT" matching the colors. Connect the same ends to the input of the back of the TV again matching the colors.

4) Connect the last two connectors (Red/White) to the back of the DVR to the AUDIO IN on the TV.

Other than this variation all shoud be the same.

I have a Panasonic DMR EH50 DVD recorder and have just discovered this evening that everything on it is displayed in Black & White (tuner, recordings, menu, dvds etc). I have a dmr-ez25eb DVD recorder and it has stopped Recording and playing back , the screen on the TV says that its a none recordable disc but I have been useing them from the time I purchased the DVD

Have you unplugged it (for more than an hour) then plugged it back in? Once you plug it back in try to eject right away. Good Luck.
