You should be able to solve this problem using NSPro if you can find someone who has it. A phone repair shop can help you and they even offer cell phone repair school in case you want to learn for yourself.
Please try to check the MMS network configuration settings of your phone through your Service Provider. They need to reconfigure your account to activate this feature on the phone.
Call your muted A747 from another phone.
Answer the call.
On your A747 select Options with the top left button.
Select the first entry, Mute/Unmute.

This fixed the same problem on my A747. Before doing this the Mute/Unmute had no effect. After doing the repair, all is OK.
