Lenovo Think Pad is always hibernating

Looks like somebody was trolling you. When did it start doing this? I suggest trying to turn it all the way off. Then turn it on again. Try fiddling with your power settings. Do you keep pressing the hibernate button accidentally? Press the hibernate button to wake it up. Also, Is there an obvious button that tells the computer that the screen is down. Try pressing that. Fiddle with it. If it started doing this randomly out of nowhere, you might want to do a system restore.

I put my Dell Dimension 9200 XPS 410 into sleep mode after connecting a wireless keyboard and mouse and the only way to wake it is to hold the power button in until it shuts off and then switch the power...

I would say it is in the Hibernation Mode To get it out of this mode you need to go to your Control Panel, open "POWER OPTION'S" and deselect the Hibernation mode then reboot.

Hp pavilion ze1115 stuck on hibernating..

Open Control Panel, Power, power settings, change power settings to high performance, Disable Hibernation, sleep. When your laptop is not in use shut it down and unplug. It will last longer and a boot everyday will reset the laptop.

My dell Studio laptop takes too long to wake from sleep mode and the monitor just flickers when i try to switch on

If you use Windows 7, u might have hybrid sleep activated. This is similar to hibernate. When u choose SLEEP, your computer goes to hibernate. Sometimes this hibernate just hangs. You have to reboot computer.
Try pressing the power button for several seconds (10-15). It should power off the laptop.
If not, unplug the charger and remove the battery for a few minutes. Then try to start it up again.

Sometimes my computer by itself goes into hibernation mode and the is very difficult to bring it back

You can go into the power setting in control panel and set the computer to never go into hibernation. If it on battery, have it shut down instead.

Computer goes in to sleep/ hibernate mode and I can not wake it up without shutting it off, and restarting

Hi,
If we are talking "hibernate", then that's what the computer does - it saves the whole memory contents on the hard disk and shuts down. You then have to power it up and it boots like always on power up, but instead of loading the system the usual way, it reads the hibernation file and restores the state in which it was when hibernated.
"Sleep" or "standby" mode is different - the system stops execution of all the running programs, switches the processor into low-speed, low-power mode, executing only the basic functions of waiting for wake-up signal. Depending on machine and settings, it will be woken up by keyboard event, system event (like laptop battery running out - time to hibernate), network activity, or the power switch.
It should wake up when the Fn key on keyboard is pressed, the lid is lfted up (if it was closed of course), or when you momentarily press the power button. If it does not, then something is wrong with your ACPI/Power Management setup, and/or there are some drivers missing or corrupt. You can try going to IBM/Lenovo website and looking for updated system drivers for your model.

Dell E173FP Monitor requires unplugging/plugging back in to wake

Perhaps your computer is hibernating instead of going into standby which takes a little longer to wake up from. While you are playing plugs and cables it give it enough time to come out of hibernation.

When the computer is in this mode the USB ports turn off which disables keyboard and mouse so the only way to wake up the computer is to press the power button on the computer itself.

One tell tale sign a computer is in hibernation is that the power light on the computer will slowly blink.

I hope this helps.

The screen afetr minimum use

Hi John,

Its a possible loos contact in the VGA port that connects your monitor to the PC. Switch off everything, check for all possible loose connections, inside & outside the PC's cabinet, rectify if any found and restart.

If the problem still persists then there's something wrong with the Power Options Settings that you may access thru control panel. I recommend that under the First Tag i.e. Power Schemes select "Never" in all the dialogue boxes for turning off Monitor, Hard Drives & System Standby and under the 3rd Tag i.e. Hibernate, make sure to uncheck the box next to Enable Hibernation.

That's about it. I feel this should solve your problem.
