Focus issues The video is out of focus and when I turn the nob it won't go into focus. I suspect it's a hardware issue but is there anything related to software that might be causing the problem?

Air Conditioning problems.

Fan motors in cars fail commonly. They wear out the brushes and the motor stops or the fuse blows. The other issue with the mode selector may not have anything to do with the motor. The actuator on the mode selector can become stuck or broken and then the air delivery wont go to the right area. All these things should be visible under the dash or behind the glovebox.

Cam loses focus on Skype

I have the same exact issue - however, it appeared. In order to understand whether it is the driver/os issue I moved my camera to a different computer - from Windows desktop to Mac laptop. And the issue still PERSISTS. I did not have the same problem in the past few months where I used the exact same setup and the same camera. Thus, it can be that the camera went bad (unlikely) or a Skype issue (likely). I think it might be related to the peer connection re-evaluation that happens in the "~30 sec" interval

\my D50 is not following through when I press the shutter release on auto focus-am able to take a pic on manual. When pressed, the camera makes a whirring noise but does not finish

Your lens might have an issue caused by some sort of shock or impact. Before anything just try to gently turn the focus ring on the lens while on auto focus to see if it pops back into place. Sometimes this actually takes care of the issue. Just DON'T FORCE IT. If this doesn't solve your issue then contact a Nikon authorized service center because your lens is going to need repairs. Hope this helps!

My camera can't focus when i press halfway down to focus before i press all the way down to snap the photo. it is only a problem with my 18-55mm lens. all my other lenses focus and take photos...

First off, try gently turning the focus ring on your lens while it is on auto focus mode (DO NOT force it). Sometimes a minor bump on the lens can cause the focus ring to come off the tracks. Try that and see if the lens start auto focusing again. I find that this solves the issues a lot of the time. If that doesn't give you any results then you'll need to take your lens to an authorized Canon service center for repairs. Hope this helps!

The display on my hp laptop has become blurred and out of focus, i have adjusted the settings on the "personalise" option but it remains blurred. Is there anything I can do about this?

Good Morning.

This could be a hardware issue, releated to Video card of the Laptop.
Please try updating the BIOS of the Laptop, this may fix the issue, if still the issue persists, then this a hardware issue. Could be with LCD display or video card.

To update the bios, please refer the link below.

This should fix the issue.

Focus Issues! Help!

I found the answer on another thread in this site. You just need to lightly bang the camera with your hand and it gets back in focus. Pathetic and archaic, but effective. I used the two finger method like I was hitting a cigarette pack.

2000 focus sputters and loses power

There is a recall on the fuel pump. If your car is sputtering and losing power, it is probably a fuel issue and I would suspect the fuel pump. It is a recall so the dealer has to replace it for free.

Focus issues

Scotty, this model has had issues with the focus stepper motor in the lens. I would call Sony customer service and ask them if there has been a service advisory issued for this model that addresses the slow focus issue.
Good Luck to you.
