Lexmark c532n prints smudges on page

My Lexmark c532n has been printing pages with magneta and cyan smudges on the right hand side of the page, and I have no idea what could be causing it or how to fix it. Any ideas?

The problem could be caused by the photoconductor units. Try to swap the affected photoconductor units (like swap the magenta with black and cyan with yellow). If problem still occurs, then the photoconductors need replacement. I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance. Thanks

Testimonial: "Thanks a lot. I just swapped the photoconductor units and now the smudges are black and yellow. I'll order a new unit. Your advice was very helpful."

Magneta Color (Toner) and when I print, the Magneta color does not print. Even on supplies status page, the yellow color section at the bottom is blank where the yellow color should be printed. How c

Hello,
The Magenta or RED toner cartridge should be removed and double check that you have indeed removed the pull tab located on the side of the cartridge which will remove the sealing tape off the new toner cartridge.
The YELLOW toner cartridge on the other hand if it is not new then it is perhaps empty and needs to be replaced. Another option is to remove the YELLOW toner cartridge from the machine, Tap it and shake it side to side to loosen the toner that is in it, and replace it back into the machine, this will usually make it start to work again!
Good Luck!

Smudge line on side of page

Smudges are most likely from the toner cartridge. If you can take your finger and run over the print and it smudges, then it is the fuser.

I replaced my black and magneta ink cartridge today and documents will print out only nice shade of blue.

may i assume you removed tapes at the electronic side of cartridge?
shake the cartridges.

Now your computer should have a utility for settings the cartridge for
first time after loading them. Thisis to make sur the colors are mixing
to give the right shade.

Normally 1 single shade means the color cartridge is ending so may be you
double check you are not returning the same ending cartridge in the printer.

Hope that helped

How is the printer printing black and yellow color? Is it a smudge?

When I print, the pages are smudged with ink. What should I do?
Description:
- If smudged stains appear at the top center of the printed page:
  • Make sure the paper is not too thick or curled.
Also, verify that the appropriate paper is being used and that the paper type set in the machine matches the media used.
  • Make sure the paper is not curled when you print on the back side of the paper with the Print Odd Pages and Print Even Pages settings.

- If smudged stains appear at the right or left corner of the printed page:
  • Make sure the paper is not curled when you print on the back side of the paper with the Print Odd Pages and Print Even Pages settings.

- If smudged stains appear on the reverse side or at the bottom of the page:
NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from the representative product and may differ from your Brother machine.
  • Make sure the printer platen is not dirty with ink.

How to clean the machine's printer platen

    1. Unplug the machine from the AC power outlet.
    2. Lift the scanner cover until it locks securely in the open position.
    3. Clean the machine's printer platen(1) and the area around it, wiping off any scattered ink with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

    4. Close the scanner cover.

  • Make sure you are using Genuine Brother Innobella™ Ink.

  • Make sure you are using the paper support flap.

To use the paper support flap, pull out the paper support (1) until it clicks and unfold the paper support flap(2).

Every time I print, the right hand side of the page

Epson inkjet printer or Epson laser printer?

If inkjet, then run the Epson software to "clean" the print-heads.

If laser, then the "fuser" (which uses heat to bond the ink to the paper) is not working -- touch the paper, and see if the left side is warm while the right side is cool.

Not printing whole page

Could be as simply as the right print margin in the application you are using. Try printing a test page by right-clicking on the printer in Printers and Faxes in Control Panel and select Properties. If the test page prints ok then check the margins in the application you are using - usually File>Page Setup. The right margin could be set to 5.0 in instead of 0.5 in.

Color toners are empty

Press Green Tick, Right, -> System Setup -> Right, Right, -> Print Quality, Right -> Replace Supplies. Change from stop at out, to override at out. It'll let you print, and you'll get loads more out of your toner before the pages start to fade.
