The battery on my 1300 xs keeps saying

In the days before electronics in vehicles, a spark when connecting a battery when everything is switched off would be significant and a positive indication something is drawing enough current to discharge the battery.

Since electronics arrived and things like central locking, a spark when connecting is normal and it is necessary to connect an ammeter in series with the battery lead to detect a steady discharge.

1 Faulty battery. 2 Battery in the wrong way. 3 Battery connections damaged? by the way, how is it working if the battery is disconnected?

Good that you got it working. How old is it? Warranty? What does the error code mean? If it is a charging error, the charging system may have a problem. Talk to customer service or email. They like to know how their products are doing. I would guess there is a battery charge level meter via their software and a USB cable connection? If so, keep watching It should give you early warning of battery failure. Or better yet, create your own "controlled" power failure and see how long the battery supports system power. Otherwise, take the battery to battery store. They can test it for you and tell you condition status.

quit messing with the battery for starters. you want to startup into safe mode. If you can get into safe mode then its a software problem, if not then it is a hardware problem. also if the power cord is plugged in and the battery is out of the computer and the problem persists then it has nothing to do with the battery.

disconnect one terminal of the battery then measure charging voltage betwen +ve and -ve it should be 13.8vdc for one 12v battery if charging voltage is not present then battery is ok then connect ammeter to measure the current in Ampere .take care it should be in series if current if no current then battery must ok opern the ups there is a charger transformer measure i/p voltage to transformer if not present then check i/p path if present then check diodes at o/p of charger if faulty replace it also check capacitor and regulator ic if faulty replace it your problem must be solved
