Kenmore portable air conditioner unit (model 461-35720-7) gets to 23 degrees and kicks out for 2-3 minutes. Operating light changes from solid blue to flashing blue and display reads E04 (error 04?). operation continues normally after unit resets itself but will never cool below 23 degrees.

This unit is sized to approx a 35 square metres area at a normal 2.4 metre ceiling height. All I would recomend without actually seeing the problem is to check this measurement and close all windows and doors. The unit is most likely undersized, but check the air temp coming off the unit. It should be about 10 degrees.

Clean your coils off and change your air filter. Should correct the problem rather quickly unless you have a refrigerant leak.

Hi I have Mitsubishi split unit which is 5 years old. when turn heat mode for 30 deg C on the remote condesing unit runs for about 6 minuts and stops. what would be the Technical problem ?Thanks an Apprentice.

Karen, the flashing red light indicates that the water collection tank is full and needs to be emptied.
You can finds the drain plug on the rear of the unit just above floor level.
It can either be drained into a low sided bowl or pan capable of holding 1 quart of water. or you can disconnect the exhaust hose(s) and roll the unit to a floor drain or outside to drain it.

salaams......the unit will stop and display E4, when coil sensor reads temp less or equal to 2 degree centigrade.so deforst it. orrrrr when the coil temperature greater or equal to 8 degree centigrade.its from manual.
