When I play a video there is no sound, the volume on the computer and speakers work but not on youtube

If you don't hear sound when playing a YouTube video, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Adjust the volume on your computer and speakers.
2. Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube video player.
3. Restart your browser.
4. Try turning up the volume for other video players (like Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player).

Step 1:

it could be one of 2 things. either its youtube or you.

Step 2:

YOUTUBE CHECK: go onto a video and scroll over the icon on the video that is next to the play button. scroll over it and you will see a tab that you can move for sound. if that doesnt work you can try this other way.

Step 3:

COMPUTER CHECK: first make sure you have some sort of a speaker for sound to come out of. ok. now, check to see if they are plugged in. if they are and are still not working go to the lower right hand corner of your computer screen click the tiny button that looks like a megaphone you can change the volume now. HOPE THIS HELPS!

First off, most Youtube videos have bad sound but most likely is you need to lower the volume for FLASH via the sound mixer. Both are using flash. Turn down the volume for flash videos. You also have volume control with the video themselves.

If you can't hear audio while playing YouTube videos then follow the given steps, Any step may solve your problem,
First of all check your PC audio settings, Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers, Try to play any saved audio file of your PC and check that u hear audio sound or not, if it works then Install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (necessary for streaming YouTube videos.or may be YouTube videos are muted for this Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube Video Player. If you have done this and still you can't hear audio then Restart your internet browser or chane your browser like (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)

May be you would have kept the volume control in the left bottom of the youtube video screen, low , when you viewed the site last time. Try to raise the video volume to maximum.

If sound won't work while playing videos from Youtube, it could be either of the following:

1. The volume control of the video itself is in mute or low mode;
2. The volume control of the headset or speaker is in low mode;
3. The volume control of the computer itself is in mute or low mode that can be found in the task-bar sound icon; or
4. The computer itself has no audio device installed.

When playing videos in YouTube and has no sound maybe the cause of the following errors:

1. The volume control of the video itself is in mute mode, to solve this problem refer to the YouTube video controls, particularly the volume button.
2. The volume control of the headset or speaker is in the low mode, to solve that problem check the volume control of the speaker or the headset.
3. The volume control in the computer task-bar sound icon is in mute mode, when the icon has "x" means the sound is not working, to solve that problem click the icon and remove the check in the small boxes at the bottom that causes the disappearance of sound.
4. The computer has no installed audio devices although you have the audio hardwares, I am referring to compatible audio drivers in order to work the device, to solve it please check your devices in My Computer>>Manage>>Devices. When there are exclamatory sign to some devices that maybe the sounds, so better look for compatible drivers in order for it to work.
5. The sound cord maybe plugged in a wrong socket, to solve it please observe the color coding or refer to the manual. And if doesn't work in front panel please do it in a back panel. To ensure that the front panel is working you should open the case and look for that little power cords that have to be connected to the motherboard.
6. The hardware might have no power especially speakers because they require power to work so better check the power cord if it is connected.
7. If the foregoing are not helpful please ask the technical support of your supplier.

may be ur system volume is muted... or if other music sounds of ur pc are playing... den when u play a video in youtube go to right hand corner of the video where u get the volume control of the video. unmute that... or increase its volume...

maybe the problem is on the files you play but not your device.

did you try to play a song in your computer instead of opening a video on youtube because some videos in youtube are not working properly or maybe there is an issue with flash player
