RJ45 Port Hi there Just purchased a HP Officejet 7140xi all-in-one unit. I want to connect it to my office network. As far as I understood, there was to be an RJ45 port on the printer to connect to my network using CAT cable. There is only 1 USB, 3 ASDL and 1 empty parrallel connector card slot at the rear, no RJ45. Can I connect to my ethernet connection with one of these or am I missing something?

You needed the network version. The model number ends with an "N".

HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is one of the most user-friendly printers. But for them to work, you need one important pice of software to work flawlessly. HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 driver. You can look up the HP site for the driver by giving two pieces of information. The first one to provide the site with is the printer model number, which we already have and know. For the second part, you must specify the OS your computer is functioning on. Once you provide the two, you'll have the driver to download and you can install it. After following the document if the issue is not fixed, try this final step

1. Disconnected power cord from back of printer ( while printer is Power on)
2. Press and Hold # and 6 Button together
3. While holding the button, connect the power cord
4. Leave the #6 button after 5 seconds.
5. Follow the instructions to align the printer.

( Hopefully this should fix the issue, else consider your printer as broken unit which cannot be fixed )

If you still get the error message, Your printer is broken. Contact www.hp.com/support and enter 7140xi in product and choose chat or email to let HP know the issue.

I have an HP LaserJet printer 4050N with RJ45 and Parallel Port. The Printer is kind of far from the WireLess router and I can't connect it. Unfortunately, my PC doesn't have a parallel port. The best...

Another option is to find an old laptop, with "wireless" capabilities and a Parallel Port.

Connect the printer to the laptop.

Connect the laptop to your wireless network.

Tell the laptop to "share" the printer.

Then, any computer on your network can "find" the networked printer, and can print to it.

How do i connect my printer with a usb to a Ethernet (RJ45) cable

Hi Tony,

I assumed you'd like to share the printer on network. I recommend to buy a printer server device that will connect USB port of printer and that device has RJ45 port that can be connected to router or switch hub to share the purpose. Hope this gives you an idea.

Best regards,
Rosener

Scanner failure

All over the web the concensus seems to be disassembly and cleaning bulb, mirros and/or the glass and a calibration strip. Mine has the same error, and I'm gonna try the cleaning those locations. This forum mentioned a disassembly procedure for the D145, I hope it's the same for the 7100 series (7140XI) I'll post back my success.
