Is there a reset button? Dryer wont dry but does

Does this heat up at all? Gas/Electric? Does it dry by 'sensor'? At this age, if you use softener sheets, the drier thinks everything is dry.

If you dry by sensor, you probably have a problem with a certain coating on your sensor from softening sheets. clean the sensor in accord with the instructions from the manufacturer. Shy of that, you can use alcohol to clean the sensor. You will probably find it on the back wall of your drier.

Maytag proforma gas dryer no heat

The model says electric and is listed as gas. If it is electric. Move all the settings (exercise the controls) If that does not work Turn both of the breakers off at your electric panel and back on. If one feels loose you know it may have tripped and you just reset it. Your drier will work fine now. Just turn it on.

My drier is a Maytag, it is not heating up the way it should be.

There is a chamber that the air blows down before hitting the vent pipe. It may need to be cleaned. But you want to make sure when you push your dryer back, that the vent doesn't kink. good luck. Overall you drier works, your just having a venting issue.

The drier spins but no heat

There is typically not a reset for heat.
Some MAY have a t-stat that has a small red button in the center that can be reset, but doubtful. If so, you need to find why it over-heated.
That said, there are many causes for not heating when it still runs.
1) Power. Motor runs on 115 V, heat on 230 V. If you have partial voltage to the dryer, this will cause your problem.
2) Heating system has many components in series, any one of which will cause the problem.
  • Motor start switch
  • Thermostats, high temp, run temp, etc.
  • Timer
  • Heating element, (most likely)
  • Wiring to all compontents
These are a few ideas.

Roper Drier no heat and continuous run for two hours

Your drier heating elements operates on 220 voltage, the drum and clock operate on 110, so you either have a blown fuse in one side of the fuse box ( easy fix )some time the circuit breaker will just need to be reset by turning it off and back on, or your heating elemant has opened up and will be more expences to fix, or it could just be a wire end has burned off. unplug plug from outlet remove back from drier and have a look see, and if bychance you have forgotten to clean your link trap if could be a high temp safety that has open and sometimes can be reset by pushing the reset button, all this is inside the back of the drier, if after that it may be time to call your friendly repair shop
