I think the timer knob will be binding in the facia panel. you could try working some washing up liquid round the knob to free it up (not oil) the timer may still be damaged but freeing the knob is worth a try a new timer varies from around £37

Dryer works but timer doesnt move

sounds like a bad timer or timer motor , check it with a multimeter, they have points inside and can seize up and burn metal to the contact points . then they stick at a certain point on the dial, u can actually open and repair it by cleaning the point contact up with sand paper a bit challenging job but can be done and save u more than 100.00 bucks

Dryer keeps drying long after clothes are actually dry.

Bad timer most likely, remove power and check continuity on the timer motor. Verify movement of dial.

Automatic cycle dries but doesn't turn off GE

Check for bad motor timer. Attached to dial control. Test by turning dial to timed position without starting dryer. Dial should return to off. Timer is available online.

Dryer drys but the timer dial does not turn to stop automatic

Hi, You will need to change the timer. The timer motor has gone bad. You can test it by removing the back cover on the control panel and test the two wires going to the timer motor to see if it is getting 120V. If it is getting voltage, it should turn.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Zanussi WJD1257W Washer/Dryer

if computer is broken that is your timer dial not worth fixing sometimes as much as a new washer but it could be your interlock you can test this by closing door set machine to a programme hit the front of your washer to the right of the door as you look at it if not take lid of make sure power is off look down inside the front of your machine were your door seal is attached to the outer drum were u hit the washer on the inside will be your interlock switch replace that before paying out for a timer m8 more than likely that is the problem
