After I plug it into USB port what next?

I purchased the sandisk cruzer 4GB USB 2.0 flash drive. The notations on the flash drive are: SDCZ36-004G/BH0907NXJB. I want to store all My Pictures and some of My Documents. I have Windows Vista Home Edition. After I plug "the cruzer" into USB port what do I do first, second, third, etc.?

Try a different USB device on each of the USB ports on your computer.
Hopefully, all your USB ports are working correctly.

Try a different USB port on your computer.
Hopefully, the SanDisk will be detected on one of the ports.

Try a USB port on a different computer.
If the SanDisk still is not detected, then spend $10 to buy a new 4GB flash-drive.

Unknown device

Hello,
Plug it through different USB ports, even a USB Hub, or on a different computer. Sometimes rebooting solves the problem. I suspect it is a USB problem, especially on laptops with a small number of USB ports.
I have given mine up as dead several times, but it always comes back up gain.
Hope it helps.

San Disk Micro Cruzer 4GB

Hi there,

Try plugging it in to a different USB port on your computer. Make sure the connecter on the Cruzer is clean and there's no dust inside.

Also, try plugging it in on a different computer.

If none of these work,
I'm afraid it's a hardware problem and there's nothing that can be done about that.

Hope I helped!

Plz Help Me

I'm not an expert with PCs, but I have a windows 98 Operating system and have been able to use all sorts of flash drives. Everytime I buy a new one, I just plug it into the USB port and in a short time it recognizes NEW HARDWARE and loads the driver. I've used LEXAR 2GB,SANDISK 4GB, VERBATIM 2GB, and recently a ATIVA 4GB
