I have a sony and it uses the KDF-E60.i turned the tv on then after like 5 min. the tv turned blank and the sound turned off and a while after the screen came back on and then the sound came back on.i ask...

so this is a projector , if the unit is turning off and giving led signal error like green flashing, your bulb needs a replacement. its a warning that it has nearly end of his lamp life. dust and poor ventilation can shorten the lamp life. its a good idea to clean the blower and ventilation inside the projector.

Screen stas on for about 3 mins, then goes blank turn off monitor and power back up monitor turns on then after two to three mins. goes blank again

Does the same with another PC?
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/

At start up, distorted / dble vision fuzzy. Screen will go black with sound. Turn off & on to get very poor distorted picture. After 15 - 20 minutes clears up.

Hello,

The reason your television is having distorted vision and screen going black with sound is because there is a problem inside the unit. This problem could be caused by either a bad lamp or a faulty t-com board.

My best bet is the lamp, because it is when the lamp start developing any fault it begins the distorted screen thing and coming up black.

What you hsve to do is to get a replacement lamp, open up the television and replace the lamp with a new one, after doing that your television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

sitaramjava, Problem not new one!!! When lcd screen goes "black" point bright flashlight (torch) 1" (3-4cm) from lcd panel to determine if you can still see desk-top icons!!! If icons are visible, unit SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. If not visible then SMPS is in full shutdown mode. You or qualified CCFL back-lit lcd monitor technician will need to make repair to units internal SMPS/ CCFL inverter supply. Your monitor isn't any different than any other brand in it's basic design and operation!! Read my and other CCFL backlit lcd monitor technicians FIXYA profiles to see if you can repair it. 12fixlouie
