I'm using an Acer Aspire 5720Z, and I have a weird problem. I can hear just about everything except my girlfriend. Windows sounds, games, and even Ventrilo all work fine, but even though other people can hear her talking over her mic, I cannot. I've tried it with Meebo and Yahoo Instant Messenger now.
Is it through an IM program? If so I had a simular problem and I open the sound settings and made sure non of them were muted and it worked fine after that.

If you're insinuating that she's sending me a clue, then no, she's really tried to get it to work, and I cannot hear her talking through her microphone. I can hear other people, and other people can hear her.

No, that's not it. Meebo's video chat doesn't offer much in the way of options, and YIM's settings seem to be in order. Even YIM's voice chat doesn't work.
