I had transferred files to it, Unplugged it, then plugged it back in to transfer additional files and now it will not transition past the "Archos Entertainment Your Way screen"
The Screen will flicker as if to move on but then nothing happens.
My archos just goes back to code 102 and i have tried it several times
what do i do now
please help

I faced the same problem Error code 108 / 102 and i resolved it on my own. The problem occurs if the OS got corroupted,
Follow the steps.
First download the lastest Firmware ( OS-(firmware_a605.aos)) from the ARCHOS website.
Plug your device to your PC
Power down the unit completely, While off hold down the Power and TV/LCD button. This will bring up again the screen with 3 options.
1) No
2) Repair
3) Formate Disk
choose the Repair option, wait for 5 mins then you can see your device detected in the PC.
copy the OS .aos file downloaded from ARCHOS website to the root of the device not in any folders.
In your device now choose the option done. It will update the new OS and it will restart autoatically.
Try it if its not working come bak to me,

I have the same problem as Mastodon ,i turn the 605 on and it shows the "archos entertainment your way" screen.It then shows a screen showing error code 102 and what do you want to do ,I have tryed to repair and to re-format, the screen just flickers and then go's back to the "archos entertainment yor way" screen.
i got the same problem and i instaled everything but it keep crashing down
My archhos does this too, it was after i dropped it to the floor, i'll try the solution where you download th OS firmware. I'll get back and tell y'all wheter it worked.
My problem is, when I choose the repair option my archos reboots and goes back to the same screen. And the archos never pops up in computer-? Help anyone?
Hello, my archos 605 wifi will not boot. The lite on the hd is flashing red. The screen comes on when I turn it on, you can hear the hd trying to boot but it turns off. Please help. Thanks
Will this erase all the data originally in the archos? Will it erase all my songs, videos etc.? Or will it just come back to normal?
