Leawo DVD Creator is an all-in-one DVD creator which is able to burn MPG video to DVD disc directly. It is able to convert videos in various formats like MP4, MKV, AVI, FLV, 3GP, RMVB, RM, etc. In addition, it's easy to use and works pretty well for it perfect converting and burning ability. Leawo DVD Creator can also allow you to DIY your disc menu and template and convert 2D video to 3D DVD movie. I think it is the best MPG to DVD converter in the world and worth trying to convert MPG to DVD.

Assuming you are using Nero successfully to write the DVD files to hard drive, you now need to convert them to VOB format for burning. You need ImgBurn to do this. Read my Tips 'n Tricks entry for the procedure I use here. This will tell you what you need to do from start to finish.

Have movies on my harddrive but whn I try to burn them they wont play in the DVD player

- It might be that your DVD does not have a compatible video codec

- you actually invest on video codec which converts any video file to .VOB

- There is a software that converts any video file format (example *.avi, *.mp4, *.mpg ) to .VOB

- This should be taken as personal use because we do have laws againts anti piracy (sorry, just a friendly advice)

Will not play vob files from usb

Hello!!

You need to check or verify the V.O.B format requirements of your TV and your V.O.B format on your U.S.B if it is match to each other.

If the V.O.B format of the U.S.B is not match on format requirements of your TV try to convert it.Depends on what kind of format needed.

Or review this manual on how to do it. http://www.retrevo.com/support/Samsung-UN-55B7100-TVs-manual/id/23300bh439/t/2/

Just click the direct link the shown above using your mouse.
After that,You have the access to download the manuals or review the table of contents for more information.

I hope this solution will be helpful.Thank you and good luck.

I just burn a writeable cd from my desktop pc using windowa movie maker. I can play it back on my pc no problem but when I insert it into my dvd player it reads no supported files found.windows used high...

Computers use video files such as AVI, WMV, MPG etc.

DVD players use VOB video files, and will not recognise the computer video files.

Unfortunately, Windows Moive Maker cannot create VOB files - you will need another piece of software to convert the WMV file Windows Movie Maker creates to a VOB.

A lot of disc burning programs (e.g. Nero) include video converters. See if you've already got one on you computer.

If not, try Googling 'WMV to VOB'. There's quite a few free ones out there.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Unable to read mkv and avi video files from usb drive on philips dvp5990 dvd player

what error does it give? mine reads avis fine, as long as theyre within resolution limits. same for windows media format. couldnt get the mkv files to work though. the usb drive has to be formatted fat32, ntfs does not seem to work. burning these files to dvd as a data disc is another option. lets you fit 10+ hours of video on the disc vs your standard 2 or 4 hour max limits.

I have prepared a home movie on Windows Movie Maker and when I copied it to a DVD it would not play on a dvd player can anyone tell me what I did wrong please thanks joe

The reason why the DVD disk you created may not contain the file format the DVD player recognizes. On a normal DVD disk there are two folders - AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. The video files are located in the VIDEO_TS folder. This video folder contains the VTS_xxx.vob video files (the video files has a .vob extension).
The video file you created may have a avi or wmv or mov or mpg extension, whilst these video files can be played on a computer but they won't play on a DVD player.
Check the movie software you are using and make sure it creates the correct file format for a DVD player.

DVD player cant read DVD media

.Vob files contain audio, video and subtitles all together. However, most MPEG-2-capable DVD players don't support subtitle tracks. I guess your DVD player is in the mentioned majority. That's why you can only play them in your computer drive.
