Not reading disc no more

What can i do to solve this problem

i put the disc in but the system doesn't do anything. The game is suppose to start automatically when you put in the disc, but it doesn't nothing happens.

same exact thing happened to me. will not read games or dvd's anymore. Now my system is on back order, so I have no idea when I will receive my new console. Needless to say I am not very happy with the Sony. I think I should have gone with the 360

It is due to the 2.17 update and the 2.30updates. basically ur only option to to contact sony and they will send u out a new console. the updates r causing the laser to spin too fast and burn out. it has just happened to my console, but a new one is on its way. sony were great with this issue. good luck

If it's a homemade CD, it could be the disc is not finalized. Also some CD players don't like homemade discs especially ones made on a computer.

Bought sing star disc, console wouldn't read it so replaced new disc with another one from shop, still won't read disk. It reads all of our other sing star discs though, Thanks. Regards Tracey.

i think u hav some problem with the reader setting since it read other disc ...u try to read the manual to know whther it hav the capacity to play that disc...if it hav the ability and still it doesnt work u can go to this site to solve your problem

Was wathching a blu ray movie movie froze at the end. took movie out cleaned dvd and put back in to play. now all discs put in the machine say no disc

Try TDK lens cleaner until the lens cleaner disk can be read, all tracks..

I am sure problem on Laser,may be it does not read any disk.So all times it say insert disk.You can better opportunity replace this damage laser.

Hello,

how long have you been using the player. There is every tendency that the lens (laser) of your player is weak and that's why it cannot read or play discs.

The lens (laser) is what makes the player reads discs, and if the lens is weak/dirty, there is no way it can read or play disc.

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, if that does not solve the problem, then its means, the lens needs to be changed completely.

my friend had the same problem what he had to do was keep opening and closing the disc tray untill the 'reading disc' shows up and stays up but he got really anoyed with doing this so he got a new one shortly after this the ps3 came out...

I have a duradrand disc changer and for some reason it is just spining and not reading the disc but sometimes it will read 2 or 3 of the disc but then during a song on one or the disc itll just stop

hello your receiver is dirty thats why it take so much time reading you need to buy the cleaning kit and check if you solve it,..................saludos

You have to download aspi drivers and force aspi18. I had the same problem and this solved it!
