Question about Sierra Entertainment Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom for Windows

1 Answer

I want to play emperor in 1280 by 800 but when I play the screen doesn't stretch its black margin. My brother's laptop can stretch the resolution to 1280 by 800 but mine can't. How can I fix this? Please help. Thank you.

Go to your start menu and open it.Click on control panel.Click on appearance and personalization.Click on display.Click on change display settings. It will let you choose from there.Click on apply or OK,whichever one is there, click on apply first if both are there.
Close window. Good luck and game on!Also if your computer is older,it may not give a big enough display option.

How do i get it to fill the tv screen when watch it on tv using an hdmi

Either locate the video cards settings page and if available it will allow you to stretch the display to fit the screen

If your TV has the ability, choose a native resolution like 720 or 1080 and locate the picture settings on the TV and look for anything to do with Display Ratio, you can play around here but you will want to find 1:1 , it will fill the screen exactly to the resolution you have picked on the computer.

Intel onboard cards have a utility that allows you to stretch the screen, if you need further help, let me know what video card the laptop has and i will be able to step by step the fix.

Just look for the 1:1 ratio first, it's your best bet.

My laptop screen resolution is already set to 1200 *600 and windows 8 does not support in that screen resolution they want to 1200 *768 what can i do

  1. Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Display in the search box, tapping or clicking Settings, and then tapping or clicking Display.

  2. Tap or click Adjust resolution.

  3. Tap or click the Resolution list and find the resolution marked (Recommended). This is your monitor's native resolution-usually the highest resolution your monitor can support.

Screen Resolution in Control Panel shows the recommended resolution for your monitor.

Monitors can support resolutions that are lower than their native resolutions, but text won't look as sharp and the display might be small, centered on the screen, edged with black, or stretched.

I have a toshiba 40 inch flat tv. I cannot make it full screen. It is as if it has black margin around the picture making it appear like a 32 inch tv. What do I do?

If this is reffering to having a pc/laptop plugged into the screen, try starting the computer with the tv already plugged in and on the correct channel. If this doesn't cure your problem then try setting the screen resolution in your display properties. set to 1920x1080 or 1280x720, this should cure your problem, if this is not a computer related issue, have a look in the display settings for your tv and see if there is a resize option or similar to adjust the image size.

Hope that this helps.

My computer has got vertical blacked out strips that are making the screen 18 mm narrower on both sides. Can you help me return my screen back to full size?

Go to
Finder » Applications » System Preferences

In the window that opens, select 'Displays' under Hardware

Here you can select a range of Resolutions, including some that state stretched. You can try a few of these (clicking on them will automatically change the resolution (the screen may go blue for a second in the process)). Most likely, the resolution you have currently selected will have a (stretched) option that may resolve your issue.

Re ACER V203H 20" monitor - appearance. Why is the image size only 16" with black margins approx 2" on left and righthand sides? I bought this monitor brandnew - thought it was widescreen. If I change...

It is definetly a widescreen the issue is either with your display card or your resolution setting you need to check both. If you would have told me wether your display is through mother board or scsi card the model of mother board or the display card then i could fix the issue easilly.
