To replace the transfer belt, you have to take out the image drums and put them in black plastic bags (if you take more than 5 minutes to replace the belt). Remember their order. Then locate the blue locks on each side of the belt unit and rotate them about 45 degrees to unlock them. Lift out the belt unit using the handle at the front. Unpack the new belt and hold it with the handle to the front of the printer. Catch the gear at the back with the drive gear on the belt unit. Lock the blue locks and then reinstall the image drums.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (If the problem is the motor belt, that's a different issue.)
It may require a complete service kit, you should check with Okidata to see if there is a kit available or what steps you should take to reset the life counter.
pull out the drums, there are two tabs (blue or green) on the left of the belt and a handle on the right. belt should pop out (some models have a plastic piece that the drums sit in, which comes out freely) insert belt on left end notches first then everything else in reverse. should do it for you
Assuming you rprinter says Order Transfer belt on the disply you will need to order then replace the transfer belt, part number 42158711. Open the top cover, remove the cartridges, unlock the belt unit using the blue levers then fit the new belt
remove all the drums, you will see the belt in the bottom of the printer. there will be two blue locking levers at each side of the belt, unlock and lift the belt out. Reverse to fit the new belt.
Please Google your problem. The method in the following link helped us to solve our same problem. <OKI C9300 Code 356:Belt Unit Life> http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/53306
There is a shortcoming, however, in this method: The reset process resets the usage stats of toners, drums, fuse and belt. After reset it displays on Print Supervision as if all the a.m. parts have been replaced with new ones.
If memory serves me right, after you replace the belt, you power machine on, wait for the error message, open the cover then close it. It should re-initialize the new belt.
If not, try turning it off, open the cover, then turn it on, wait for the "close cover" message, then close cover.
It was some weird combination, but that's how you reset the count.
