Tape compartment Samsung SC-D953 problems

I've never used my camcorder before and the first time I took it out of the box and tried to put a tape in I found that the tape compartment will mechanically eject but wont go back in with or without a tape. And, no, I didn't try to force it. Now I can't use the camera at all because the stupid thing is sticking out (whether the camera is off or on) and I can't even go with just memory card. HELP!

I have the same problem and it is very ennoying! But, there is a solution. This SAMSUNG camcoder model has a sensor that reads when the compartment it is pressed down. A solution to your problem(wich was also mine a few weeks ago) is to press down the cam's compartment until you hear a noise, and the...held it like this for 1-2 seconds. Then the camera will pull it inside. Try it and leave a message if problem is solved.

mam try to check the tape if its correctly inserted to the camcorder. it must the tape itself or the tape compartment has the problem. insert the tape and see if its feed to the tape head and be sure that it will close with no problems. if the problem still occuring or persisting then try another dv tape and see if you got the same problem. otherwise go to the nearest repair shop to be able to fix with the use of their tools. hope that helps you ma'm!

sir if your camcorder is new then it has a warranty. we should send it first for their service because they have a spare parts for replacement and info. if your going to fix it by yourself then the warranty of that will be void. by the way the place for the service center for camcorder samsung in the philippines is in makati i think. i got a problem with my samsung just like your model and they told me that it is located at makati. hope that helps!
