1 vertical line across the screen maybe 1" tall. It appears to have the entire picture in that short little space.

SOURCE: vertical output problem

you probably just need to resolder the vertical output IC. It will be mounted on a heat sinc. probably 7-10 pins. Part number may start with "LA" like LA7845 or similar, there are others though. You will probably see the rings around the solder joints on the bottom of the board. Good Luck

SOURCE: Color line across the center of a black screen

Hi. this is caused by dry solder joints on the frame o/p IC. Resolder all legs of frame chip. Should sort that out.

SOURCE: horiznal line across screen

The picture tube itself is not longer being manufactured and the replacement might exceed the price of a new TV.
The vertical line you see on the picture tube is not a failure with the picture tube but a different part inside the circuitry.

So I have a 50 Lg ( LG 50LN5700). There is still a picture however about every 3 seconds it goes from regular to blurry and repeats. There seem to be about 3 black lines across the top horizontally about 3...

To clarify, are the 3 black lines horizontal (left to right across entire width of screen)? or are the 3 black lines vertical (top to bottom across entire height of screen)?

Horizontal lines are almost always the result of a failed panel, and no board replacement will fix the issue.

Vertical lines such as you have described (only 3) are probably also a bad panel. If the black lines were evenly spaced in a repeating pattern, it could be a mainboard or TCONN board.

Has this panel been cracked? or perhaps cleaned recently with too much water or cleaning solvent that has gotten the screen wet?

You may have to sell the TV for parts.

Thin black/transparent vertical lines across the screen

If the lines aren't appear at least in one input or in smart apps then theres no posibility that the time-control is malfunctioning.the more logical is mainboard is isn't working right . could you provide me with more info and maybe a photo i'm sure I can get you a better and more advanced answer to that

White lines across TV screeen

if these lines are just at the top of the picture then i would suspect an electrolytic capacitor in the vertical circuit.

Samsung WS32Z429T

This looks like it could be a problem with leakage of the 60Hz vertical scan frequency into the picture this is also called 60Hz hum. What usually causes this is poor filtering on the power supply or decoupling capcitors in the vertical section have begun to malfunction. This problem is easy to fix if you have the equipment to isolate the problem, I would suggest that you take this set to a TV repair shop to have it analyzed and repaired.

Vertical lines

IF the area of the OSD (on screen display) displays the same vertical blue lines as the rest of the screen, then it is most likely the optical block assembly at fault. It's part number is A1606006A and should cost close to $2,000. I'm assuming the set is out of warranty. I know many people are hooked on Sonys, but as a technican that works on them, I wouldn't want one in my home.

Picture problem

Usually that symptom is caused by cracked solder joints on the vertical output IC. As the IC starts heating up, the picture starts breaking up at the top with several "dancing" dark lines appearing, the top scrunches down and then when the vertical quits altogether, the screen goes completely black. A good slap on the side of the TV might make it happen faster or clear it up temporarily. If you have experience working on PC boards then you can resolder the pins of the vertical output IC but if you have never soldered parts on PC boards then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
