Hello,I'm having a problem with my RCA D52W26. Yesterday I went to turn it on and it wouldn't. So I plugged it in, I pressed power and the green power light on the front of the TV just blinks for 9 times rapidly, pauses for a second, and repeats (other times it blinks slowly).
This happened to me in November 2007 and the TV didn't work again until February 2008. It magically worked fine for two months and has again stopped working as of April 21, 2008.
The TV is about four years old and I have a picture tube warranty, but I'm sure that is not the issue. If you have any idea of what I should do, please let me know.
Thank you.
Re-solder the flyback and replace caps CP150, CP110, CP114 and CP120. Even if they are not bulging or look damaged, replace them. Also, check the horizontal output transistor, It is on a large heat sink close to the flyback. If it's bad replace it and don't try 2 turn the TV on until u do. If that doesn't solve ur problem, make sure the 2 ribbons going 2 the SSB from the deflection board are properly plugged in. If you still have issues, I suggest u take a look at the SSB itself. These are not an easy fix bcuz most parts on this board are small. Hope this helps u.
These TVs are RCA biggest mistake ,all most all of these models are shutting down accoding to information you just sneeze and they shut down, Id say try soldering around flyback transformer solder all pins.also they have trouble with ribbon connectors as well as the ribbions.

Thanks for the info, ladywinn. Yes, I know about the reduction in quality in RCA products over the past decade, however this TV is about four years old and I didn't know about their quality reduction at the time.
Any way, the TV turned on again last night happily. Unfortunately, this appears that it will be a long-term problem. I guess it will just be moody.
Thanks again!
