Most fridges the light does not go off it will change colors when the filter needs to be replaced and usually they stay green indicating a good filter

Water dispenser dripping

Sounds like you have a bad water valve, it is located in back of refrigerator where your water line comes in. Change that and you will stop the leaking.

The water filter is changed and something should be done to reset display but the serviser for the fridge did not know how to do it (live in Croatia!) thx

There is usually a reset button on the front panel to turn off the filter change symbal, just press and hold

it is located on the bottom side of the engine, front right corner. its the black plastic filter housing

WATER FILTER CHANGE REMINDER

For some refrigerator models featuring water filters, the Water Filter Change Reminder function monitors the life of the filter and provides a reminder when it is time for the filter to be changed. When the system detects either 12 months of usage, or the filtering of 416 gallons of water (whichever comes first), the change filter indicator light will illuminate. This

indicates that the water filter should be changed and the light reset. To reset Change Filter Light:

Press and hold the LIGHT and LOCK pads until the CHANGE FILTER light blinks (approx. 3 seconds). The control is now reset for 12 months or another 416 gallons.

How do I turn off the "change water filter light" on the door? I just changed the filter

Hold the lock and light buttons in together for 3 secs. or so and the light will go out! You don't even need to change the filter to do this.

Changed water filter red light stays on

Afer you change the filter and have run the water for about 1 minute you then hold down the light & lock button together and this should turn the change filter light off.

Hange filter

your filter is located in the front kickplate just below the freezer door. to replace filter push in on the button to the left of the filter cartridge (its a semi triangular button) push in until the filter releases. remove the endcap from the filter and reintall it onto your new filter. in case you need it here is the part number 4396710 it can be purchased online or at any home depot lowes or sears store. good luck and thx ofr using fixya.. peyton...

Can't identify "water filter indicator light"

the indicator light could be on the control panel inside the refr section if your controls are there, or it is most likely on the front of the dispenser panel. it only comes on when you draw water from the dispenser and thats when you will see it be green, filter ok, yellow, filter at 80% life, or red, time to replace the water filter.
also you dont need to shut off the water when changing the filter as it is made with a shut off device in the filter housing already and is automatic.
by the way filters are expensive, go online and check prices. google "water filters" and find a good price.

my two year old top mount fridgidarie refrige is not cooling enough. the freezer is working but fills full of snow very quickly fan is working defrost timer is working defroster is working fan is working compressor turns on and off fridge does not get cold enough but freezer does keep everything frozen but fills full of snow like crystals
