Straight up is "flat" which means no boost or reduction of the highs and lows. Use this to listen to the actual sounds without enhancement.

How to adjust the pickup on a bass guitiar

It's a balancing act between volume and string pull. Generally I raise the treble pickup as close to the strings as possible without the strings hitting it while playing hard. Then play sustained notes and see if the pitch wavers from magnet pull. If so, lower the pickup a bit until the waver stops. Then ring up the bass pickup until the output matches the treble pickup. If that doesn't cause waver, your set. If it does, lower the bass pickup until it stops.

What is wrong? my active bass whether i put a new battery in or not sounds passive no change whatsoever. quite a bit of the low end is severely missing. Schecter STARGAZER 5 bass.

That bass combines passive EMG pickups with an active preamp (which provides the bass and treble controls). Sounds like you are never getting the preamp to work, and if that is the case there could be numerous reasons...a dead battery...jack wiring that is broken (meaning the battery ground wire is not attached or is grounding out)...likely should see a tech, but that is a good sounding bass when working correctly.

After installation, the treble strings are much louder than the bass strings

Try adjusting with the EQ settings on the amp... boost the bass and trim the highs.

I have a bad pot on the very last knob closer to the bridge if i want to replace it could 250k be replace with 500k pot or vice verse

You can. If it is a tone control you may have a reduced effective rotation range. Probably this won't matter to most people. As a volume replacement, replacing with a lower value may reduce treble slightly, and a higher value increase treble slightly. It is quite a small effect though and you may even like it better.

I have the QSC PLX3602 connect from dbx pa as bridge mono to the sub woofer jbl mrx518. It works well. But now when I change it as stereo to the main jbl mrx515, I only hear the bass sound, no more...

Hi,

I don't think that there's anything wrong with the amp.
I'll think you're using a x-over, connected to the low-output.

Just a shot,

Hi, I just installed an EMG P/J along with a Bass Treble System. I feel sure that I followed the schematic right. My problem is the front PU doesn't work. The balance control has a static kind of noise...

Without the instrument, and assuming all connections are solid parts are new I'm gonna guess low battery voltage. That's my guess because a bad 9V can cause things to freakout, and Sam - that Pbass is freaking out.

Is there a way to mod the hd100fx head for more bass?

You are ultimately limited by the available power of the internal amp. You can set controls for bass boost and turn off the treble but there is only so much power available.

HINT: If you are using speakers smaller than 15 inch, that will limit the bass as well. Use larger efficient speakers.

Line 6 Spider III 15W- My Bass and Drive knobs arnt working... my mid and treble seems to be fine plus all my channels and effects but just those two knobs...and its buggin the **** out of me.... any...

resolder the three legs of the pots back down to the pcb. usually the treble feeds the bass, then from bass to mid then to ground. so if treble and mid are working its hard to imagine why the bass wouldnt be working. i would try to resolder, as you might have cold solder joints. keep it unplugged, pull off the knobs, open it up, remove the pcb screws and pull/flip out the pcb and resolder all of the pots.

Fostex MR 8 HD\CD adding treble and bass?

It APPEARS that the MR8 does NOT include the ability to EQ. They have delay effects and the like built in, but no EQ.

To answer your question then, you would need to have an EXTERNAL EQ unit and loop the vocal through that unit to do EQ to do it right.

When mastering, the "powerful/natural/and bright would be filters that will emphasize the bass (powerful) or the treble (bright) but these are really not EQ's and you can ONLY choose one at a time.
