There is a bug in the R4i V1 software that is causing this. You need to google this file name software-r4i-sdhc.zip once you have it copy ALL the files onto you micro sd card and all should be OK.

Where do i find the confirmation number on my DSi
Instructions1 Look at the front of your R4i card for the white circle with the 'i' in it. If your R4i card is authentic, the 'i' will fit in the circle with plenty of white around it. Fake R4i cards have a bold 'i' which practically touches the top and the bottom of the white circle.
2 Study the circuit board on the back of the R4i card. Authentic R4i's will have 'r4i' printed in white in the top left corner of the board. Also observe the gold strips. They should all be longer than those on a fake card and will practically all reach the bottom of the board.
3 Look at the box and the cartridge itself. Official R4i cards will have the correct website listed as www.r4i-sdhc.com. If your R4i card has any other web address on it, then it is a fake.
4 Turn the R4i card around to the back. Authentic R4i cards will feature a holographic sticker which states "Please Access the Official Web Site TRUTH ENQUIRY" which you can peel off to reveal a four-tiered code. Visit the website printed on the front of the R4i card and click the "Forgery-proof search" link in the top right corner of the screen. Enter the number into the box provided for confirmation of authenticity.

Simple i have a r4 with sd card with over 90 games in it but when i turn on the 3ds i see the card but when i click on it it says an erroe has occurred ...what is the proublem
It's going to depend on which r4 card you have and if you've updated your firmware on your R4. The only versions of the r4 card that are compatible with the 3DS are "R4i Gold", "R4i Gold 3DS", "R4iDSN" and "R4iDSN 3DS". If your R4 card is not one of these, then unfortunately this will mean your R4 is not going to work with the 3DS. If you have one of these cards, you'll simply need to update your firmware:

- R4i Gold 3DS from R4ids.cn (3DS V2.0.0-2 Patch for R4i gold 3DS card)
- R4i Gold from R4ids.cn (3DS V2.0.0-2 Patch for R4i gold (NON-3DS) card)
- R4iDSN 3DS (R4idsn 3DS 2.0.0-2 Patch)
- R4iDSN (R4idsn 3DS 2.0.0-2 Patch for Non-3DS card)

You should not use that version of the moon shell. Use this stable version. Multi Media Software - MoonShell 1.71 . To open this, right click, open on new window and your download will start!

download this firmware http://www.r4i.cn/download-en.htm and empty your micro sd card of everything beside the 4 game files. then copy over all files and programs directly to your sd card. then insert it back into your r4i and your r4i into your ds. after you turn it on it should go to a menu screen after you tap on the Alex rider, Storm breaker thq. then select your game to play it.

Make sure your system time is correct. Make sure you reformat your sd card with panasonic reader. Put new firmware files onto you sd card. Make sure your gold contacts are clean.

If you can get into the card menu then you have the right software, but it sounds like severe instability like a fake card would have. Try the <a href="http://www.dscardworld.com">R4i SDHC</a>. It's been proven to work better then the R4i Gold.

R4i gold not working on dslite
Hello Pmkfc,

Try the latest menu firmware from the manufacturer website. The R4i Gold, hasn't been the best card in awhile though. The cards made by the R4 SDHC team tend to be better. If you start running into compatibility issues I might get a new one.

If you're looking to get genuine cards for your ds (there are fakes out there), take a look here, http://www.dscardworld.com. I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it. US based support and shipping I believe.

Go to linfoxdomain, and check that you have the right software for the r4i gold, thats the only thing that can be wrong with r4i gold if you have loaded the games right, have you unzipped all the games, if you have done all that right it must be the card,
