Simplicity Easy Lock Serger 804DSP with Differential Feed Tention problems

Cannot get the tention to even out no matter what setting I put the dials to.
Have dusted - de-linted - re-threaded still loose tention even on #9 setting.

All the problem that everyone had with the Simplicity Serge Pro are able to be fixed with the manual. I downloaded the manual from the Simplicity Home page: www.simplicityhomecare.com. That simple. Thank you for your assistance because you made me realize that I had to go get the answer myself if I wanted to get anything done yesterday. Waiting for 24 hours was just too long for me. There is also an 800-822-6691 hotline as well. I have already finished my project. Have a great day!

How do I raise the feed dogs on the simplicity easy lock 880
The information I found on your machine indicates it is a serger. A serger's feed dogs should always be active unless your machine also has coverstitch capability. Perhaps you should look through your owner's manual. A sewing machine will sometimes have feed dogs that drop but, AFAIK, sergers don't do that.

Upper tention is way too loose. Stitches leave loops on backside. Cannot get upper tention to tighten no matter what, even with the presser foot down and tention on #9. Can easily pull thread.
Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.
If the tension unit is not broken or malfunctioning, this should take care of your problem. The common problem is the top thread is not seated in the tension disk, so raising the presser foot helps accommplish that.

Elna T34D serger. Front feed dog doesn't raise far enough to feed fabric. Putting fabric in far enough to reach the back feed dog, everything works fine. Differential dial works fine.

I have a Simplicity serger SL880 that was my mothers. She past away about 8 years ago. I was trying to use it but appears the motor may be locked up that moves the feed dogs. Is there a place to oil it? If so where? Thank you.
