Hi,
this means that your computer is set to either a too high frequency or too high resolution. Try to lower the resolution setting of your desktop step by step, until the message disappears.

rubina576, I see you haven't looked at the "date of manufacture" on rear of your VE155B!!!! Retrevo .com lists unit as time to retire. The long,"very thin", "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" that provide a "constant" bright, "white light" on the reverse side of the LCD PANEL, have "worn out" and are very "tired"!!!! You can see typical lcd CCFL's at: www.rexim.com and click on "products" you will see "lcd backlights" !!! YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO CHANGE THEM. A technician will need to do it. Very time consuming procedure. If your ve155b menu button on monitor can't fix brightness for you, then your options are: 1. check with viewsonic to cost out a refurbed VE155b if you can. 2. Trade in unit for new wide-screen 2010 or 2011 lcd monitor. If this was of some help, please rate my response on fixya. By for now. 12fixlouie north of Windy City.

Hi! If this is the case, the problem will surely be on the monitor cable going to the pc. If the cable is loose or faulty it will give you a no signal message. YOu will need to secure the cable of the monitor for it to work. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

How to hook up flat screen monitor??

That's all you need. Just a standard power cord plus the VGA connector cable. Plug the new monitor into the same spot as the old one.

Monitor says burn -in

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

Power saving

Right click your desktop, click properties, click the screen saver tab, it'll say monitor power at the bottom, click power then choose which option you want. Good luck.

Monitor is on, goes light to dark in 1 second

I have the same problem with my Dell 17" monitor. I've been reading and what others with similar problems say is that the power supply has a bad capacitor.

Monitor

On the monitor there should be an auto adjust button. Press that and it will adjust to your windows desktop.

Viewsonic ve155b Dead

shine a flashlight into the monitor, if you can then see what is usually on your desktop, then your backlight has a problem.
