Whirlpool dehumidifier does remove water

DEPENDING ON HOW FAR AND HOW LONG IT RAN TILTED, YOU MIGHT HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE BUCKET SWITCH, LOCATED BEHIND THE BUCKET. SOMETIMES THERE IS A FLOAT INSIDE THE BUCKET THAT ACTIVATES THE SWITCH. IT MAY HAVE GOTTEN IN A BIND. TRY REMOVING THE BUCKET AND THEN REINSTALLING IT.
IF YOU HEAR A CLICKING NOISE ONCE EVERY FEW MINUTES, YOU MAY HAVE DAMAGED THE COMPRESSOR.
THE COMPRESSOR HAS LUBRICATING OIL IN THE BOTTOM OF IT AND REQUIRES IT BEING LEVEL TO PROPERLY PICK UP THE OIL. IF YOU TILT IT FAR ENOUGH, IT WON'T BE ABLE TO PICK UP THE OIL AND WILL DAMAGE THE INTERNAL MOVEMENT OF THE COMPRESSOR. REPLACE-MENT OF THE COMPRESSOR IS THE ONLY FIX AN TOO EXPENSIVE. BETTER TO JUNK IT AND START OVER.

Hi Eric where do you live? what is the Air on temperature i the basement? what is the Air off temp in the Basement? what temp difference are you getting.I ask where you are located in the world so we can work out the Ambient temperatures in the area.

it can be fixed but not economically, I would hold onto the unit the new ones are not good at all,

Try cleaning the filter first. Pull it out and then wash it with water and let it dry overnight. Then clean the spigot/nozzle which fills the pan. This often becomes clogged with dust or debris or even insect webs. Once you wipe the nozzle with a rag, really clean it well with a finger. You should feel the rubber gasket at the end of the nozzle with your finger.

Likely the fill nozzle was just clogged so water drips along the top and down the sides of the pan instead of into it.
