I found a driver for the s7000 on the fujifilm.com website, but no manual online.

Can you go to a mode where the arrow keys can be used to move the page around for the cropping? That's all I can think of to accomplish the task.

Zooming in and out is ok, but I'm sure you want to move the image around a little bit, or move the borders of the cropping around.

Good luck on this.

After I have taken a photo I zoom in on the photo how do I save the zoomed in image

If you are zooming in camera (as in, pressing the zoom button while looking at the back of your camera's LCD), you won't be able to save that version.

You will have to open your picture in an image editor and use the crop tool to crop the image to your liking. You can then save that image as a new image. If you don't have an image editor, pixlr.com is a good, free, web-based option.

Is it possible to use digital zoom and shoot photos in manual mode?

Although your EOS 600D does not support digital zoom, while shooting, the same effect can be reached when the picture is already on the memory card. If you want to zoom in later (Crop) please shoot in RAW (or RAW + JPG) Only then all details will be preserved. Later you then can crop the part you wanted to have in the first place. I know your camera can crop the pictures you want to print from the camera. I'm not sure you also can edit RAW pictures and later save them (cropped) as a jpg.

What is the difference in the optical and digital zoom?

Hi,

Find the difference below

Digital Zoom

1. Digital zoom is a part of digital cameras, and camcorders, which helps to crop the entire image, and then digitally enlarge the size of the viewfinder of the portion that is needed to zoom in on
2. Digital zoom crops the image down to a centred area with the same ratio as the original, and also interpolating the result back up to the pixel dimensions of the original. this method involves cropping, hence the resolution and quality is reduced
3. Digital zoom, crops a portion of the image and then enlarges it back to size. And due to this, image quality is reduced in comparison with the original one.
4. Using the digital zoom allows the user to get closer to the subject when the photographer wants to be discreet about taking pictures, like taking a picture of a person in a graduation ceremony.

Optical Zoom

1. While taking a picture using a Camera to want to get a close shot of the subject without moving physically closer, photographers use the optical zoom.
2. The optical zoom ratio of a digital camera measures how much the lens can actually zoom in to make subjects appear closer. Optical zoom, enlarges a picture while keeping the resolution and sharpness of the picture high.

3. There is no relation between optical zoom and the resolution of the photo, as optical zoom only enlarges the whole image or the subject to a certain range. So image quality only depends upon the mega pixel (MP) of the camera

4. Optical zoom is very useful, while taking a picture of a landscape, or to get a closer view of a subject, without reducing the quality of the entire image, like taking a picture of a Rainbow in the sky.

Ron

Once u zoom into the picture that is very far away how do u keep the picture zoomed in after u snap the shot ...

Once you've framed your shot (zoomed in) and taken the picture. That's it, the picture you've taken is the one in your view finder, and that's the way its kept.

However, if you want to zoom in further, you can using the software you were provided with your camera, you can, you can also zoom in using your camera menu. Once happy you can then save the edited picture. But this time its a digital zoom and it will reduce the resolution. The picture won't look quite as fine. It will be a balance between picture quality and the extent you want to zoom in.

I want to save picture that we took in a zoomed in mode -magnified larger than it was originally taken? is this possible?

You can do that in a photo-editing program. It's called "cropping". You select the area you want and the rest is cropped out.

Why did my picture become big so I can not see the sideline information

Press the RATIO button repeatedly to select the desired picture format. You can also adjust Aspect Ratio in the OPTION menu.
  1. Set By Program. Selects the proper picture proportion to match the source’s image. (4:3 → 4:3, 16:9 → 16:9)
  2. 4:3. Choose 4:3 when you want to view a picture with an original 4:3 aspect ratio, with gray bars appearing at both the left and right sides.
  3. 16:9. Choose 16:9 when you want to adjust the picture horizontally, in a linear proportion to fill the entire screen.
  4. Horizon. Choose Horizon when you want to adjust the picture in a non-linear proportion, that is, more enlarged at both sides, to create a panorama view.
  5. Zoom 1. Choose Zoom 1 when you want to view the picture without any alteration. However, the top and bottom portions of the picture will be cropped.
  6. Zoom 2. Choose Zoom 2 when you want the picture to be altered, both horizontally extended and vertically cropped. The picture taking a halfway trade off between alteration and screen coverage.
  7. Cinema Zoom. Choose Cinema Zoom when you want to enlarge the picture in correct proportion. Note: When enlarging or reducing the picture, the image may become distorted. You can adjust the enlarge proportion of Cinema Zoom using D / E button. The adjustment range is 1~16.

Save a zoomed in picture

Save the picture to your computer.
Before you "edit" your picture, copy the picture to another folder (name the folder "backup" or something similar). Now you may edit the original picture (not the one in the backup folder).
Use the Picture Motion" software that came with the camera. The software will allow you to "crop" the picture...

I have problems focusing my f8000sd fuji camera when zooming in on small things.IIf I try to zoom right in on a butterfly for example,it will not focus and I can't use macro and get closer in case it flies...

Use spot metering & focus when taking pictures of an object.
Set your camera to highest Megapixel setting, Only use max. optical zoom on the subject (do not use digital zoom) .U dont need to get close to object as you can edit/zoom/crop the picture using any photo software program afterwards .

How do I set a zoomed in photo on my A 620?

What you are trying to do is referred to as "cropping". It is not possible to do this on the camera itself however if you are printing directly to a printer from the camera, there is an option to "Trim" the image. This does not modify the image, it just selects a portion of the image to print. If you want to do cropping on your computer, the bundled software has the ability to assist there.
