Camera want flash sony dsc-h3

If it flashes when you take any photo then you have the flash set to manual override for each shot or you're just shooting in areas too dark for any photos without the flash. Check your flash settings or try a factory default reset from the camera's menu options.

Can photos be transferred FROM a computer or flash drive to the camera?

Yes. There's an "Image/Sound Copy" command in the playback menu.

Be aware that if you've done any editing at all on a computer (opening a picture in a picture editor and then saving it without doing anything counts as editing) then the camera may not display it.

Take pictures, reads unable to recognize files, and doesnt even show i have taken a picture

The camera may require manually opening the shoot lense to achieve flash to capture pictures. Observe the camera buttons for every complementary buttons that may require activation prior to photo shoots. Usually smaller cameras with lenses may require manual lense adjustments prior to every photo shoot.

How do you activate red eye reduction in the 5900?

To take photos with red eye reduction requires your flash to firerapidly before snapping the pic. Make sure camera is in record mode pres the 4 way switch with the lightning sign on it. The flash modes will pop up. select red eye flash.

To fix red-eye after a photo is taken. Bring up the photo in playback mode and press menu button. Red eye reduction should be available as one of the menu items. Otherwise, display the pic, press OK button in center and if you like the fixed picture then select yes to store it.

Not good photos indoors very grainy and bad light looking photos

Auto mode in poor lighting (generally always indoors without flash) sets high ISO, which produces ugly amount of noise (graininess). What you need is to keep the ISO under 200 by either:
Shooting well lit scenes, using flash etc.
or
Uusing one of the manual programs (M, S, A, P) and setting the sensitivity via the F-menu.

DMC-FX01 Flash Does Not Work

In what mode are you trying to take photos? The flash will not work in certain modes (see the manual), for example the night mode. Or you accidentialy turned on sequential/burst mode (this is mode where camera takes more pictures on one shutter button press). Flash cannot be used in this mode also. I don't have FX01, but on FZ8 the camera will show flash icon in red, but will take the picture anyway without flash being triggered. The second problems seems like enabled power-saving mode, but those 5 seconds are too short for this. But anyway you can check in SETUP menu the settings for power-save. Also maybe the flash is broken and camera noticed it... I don't think this could be a software problem. Either problem with the flash, but more probably just setting of wrong mode.

Darkening images

When the flash is activated the camera reduces its light sensitivity[In old photo terms it 'Stops Down'] to prevent 'burnout'[or over exposure] As the flash is small powered and has only a limited 'throw' only the objects illuminated by the flash will be correctly exposed. On the other hand- with no flash the camera will open the aperture wider to maximise the light available.

Blurry Pics and not able to set date/time

You can only set the date stamp in the “Post Card” resolution mode. Hit the “function” button, go down to the resolution selection (L, M, S, W, Postcard, etc.). Pick the “Post Card” setting. Hit the “menu” button and the “date stamp” menu will be active

High Flash Resolution

You are shooting with the exposure bias set too far on the plus side, not familiar with the 550, do You have the user manual? If You look at exif data of posted photos, You will see that many are taken at settings below the midpoint. If You don't have a manual, go to the Olympus website, many manuals are available for download. You may also find the function in the menu based on sunny, cloudy, etc, this is important to set right
