Freezer light no longer comes on. LG LFX28977 3 door refrigerator with Bottom drawer freezer.

I have a 5 year old LG french door refrigerator, the freezer light would not come on with the freezer door open. The led light and magnetic switch were OK. I found the led light had no power due to broken wires located in the top right door hinge. There was insufficient wire strain relief insulation and the wires broke with the repeated door operation. Soldered the wires, wrapped i with electrical tape and it works fine.

The switch and or the led light assy has ice inside of it. This is a known issue with this LG unit.

Call LG and request them to fix this under a warrranty.

Frozen Water in Pan behind freezer drawer.
yes you will have to remove the freezer door and go through the front of the unit. the door itself is the easy part to get off, it lifts off the rails, you may have to remove a screw a few inches back fromm the freezer door on both freezer rails(phillips head screw, ). empty the freezer pullout before trying to remove. after that the the pull out upper shelf comes and thenyou can remove the horizontal rails , the ice maker drops down and then the back wall can be removed

My lg lfx28977 doesnt make ice. I change the freezer temp to -6 but it makes about 4, 5 trays and then quits too, last 3 days it makes about 1 - 2 trays. Any ideas? I just inherit this fridge. Everything working fine, cooler, water, etc. but the ice maker. The first few days, the freezer temp was 0 degree F and it didn't make anything.....I changed the freezer temp to -6 degree F (coldest) and it mkes maybe several trays in a 24-hour period then slows down to maybe 1-2 trays in the last 2 days. Anybody has any idea? I changed it to -2 degrees last night......will see if it's better. Don't know if the temp sensor is bad or the water pump is shot. Thanks.
