Changing touchpads Can a touch pad from the Toshiba satellite A25 series be installed in an Acer TravelMate 4670, replacing the touchpad? I find the touchpad on my old Toshiba laptop to be much more responsive than on my new Acer laptop.

In theory it would be possible, I can't tell by the documentation whether the touchpad is a seperate peace from the palm rest or not. Most laptops either build it into the palm rest which would not work for you, or the cable might be the wrong adapter/ too short etc.

TOSHIBA C660 TOUCHPAD NOT WORKING

Try re-installing your touchpad driver and touchpad on/off utility from here:
http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK

Just select:
Product Type - Notebooks
Family - Satellite
Product series - Satellite C series
Model - Satellite C660
Driver Type - Touch Pad Driver (and later Touch Pad On/Off
Utility)
Then hit search at the bottom to find it for the operating system you use.

Touchpad won't work

What's wrong with the touchpad? Rather than fix it if it is broken just replace it. In fact you can replace the whole palmrest which includes the touchpad that does not cost a lot.

Maybe you turned the touch pad off.
Click Start/Control Panel and look for the Mouse and open it to check the mouse properties. Make sure you don't have the touchpad disabled.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad on or off by clicking on the button that is located at the top of the touch pad in the middle.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad by tapping twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad.

Some models will require a keystroke to toggle the touchpad. Press and Hold the ALT or FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The correct key to hit will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents the touchpad.

Maybe you just need to reinstall the touchpad drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

My touch pad scroll function is not working on my Toshiba satellite M300 laptop

To use scroll function, you have to install the touchpad drivers, which are available from Toshiba Official Support. Click Here to download the required touchpad drivers. Select 'Touchpad' from Category and install Synaptics or Alps Drivers (Depending upon the type of touchpad you have on your system).

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Touch pad refuses to work

Try going to Toshiba's support page and re-install the driver for the touchpad. If this does not work. You may need to replace the touchpad itself.

Synaptics touchpad not working

Have you looked at the Device Manager to see if there's a problem with the touchpad?

Start -> Control Panel -> System -> click on Hardware tab -> click on Device Manager button. Do you see anything that indicates a problem with the touchpad?

Also, you might want to check the BIOS to see that the touchpad is still enabled. I doubt that this setting would have changed, but it's worth checking. When you boot the computer you should see a message that says something like: "To enter setup press XXX" where XXX is the delete key or some other key. Once you're in the BIOS poke around to see if you can find the settings for the Touchpad. Different manufacturers use different BIOS' so I cannot tell you exactly where to look.

Good luck.
