SOURCE: F2 message when self cleaning

I have the exact problem, had a service man look at it while still under warranty. He said it was fixed and left. Tried it again, same problem. Called him back 2 times after that, he quit responding to my calls. By tyhen warranty expired and GE refused to do anything.

SOURCE: F2 E3 error code- Oven won't turn on now

Hi,
I ended up calling a technician to come out and look at it. He said that the front panel where you push all the buttons went out and I would need to get a new panel.

Self cleaning range - door is locked, food inside, and self clean malfunction

Here are a couple of remedies that may work:
1. Disrupt the power to the stove for at least 5 minutes. If the clean cycle has been on to heat the oven at all, wait until you are certain it is completely cooled down. Patience is a virtue. There should be no lights on the panel. This resets the stove and stove errors the majority of times. I usually pull the plug at the rear of the stove. It gives me a chance to clean the floor while waiting. Re-power and determine if the if the clean cycle cancels. If not, go to 2.
2. Push the door in and press "Cancel". There is a push button switch (not visible when the door is closed) that is also a part of the self clean circuit. This switch may not be fully depressed. If it does not cancel, press the "Bake" button and press "Start". If it continues on the clean cycle, allow it to run for approx. 5 minutes and then enter "Cancel". If it does not cancel, retry the #1 waiting longer than 5 minutes and repeat #2 sequence.
3. The door can not be disassembled when it is locked closed. The lock mechanism is at the top of the door in the center and approx. 2" down.. The latch operates from left (open) to right (lock). It may be possible to get a slim jim type device to disengage the latch. A piece of scrap spring steel pallet banding may work for this You may have to depress the "Cancel" while doing this/. Hopefully, your range cooperates and you do not have to try 3.

Let us know if any of these work for you.

I keep getting the following error message: E6 F2 - what does this mean?

If you have a Whirlpool oven, the F2 E6 error means that the Cancel key line is open. You will need to replace the keypad or the keypad and controller board (if a single assembly) if the keypad doesn't respond to a press of the Cancel Key.

I hope this helps.

Displaying E6 & F2 code

F2/E6 fault code implies a Cancel key drive line open. This means the key pad ribbon connector could be loose or dirty where it connects to the oven control board or a faulty oven control board.

Press Cancel. If the error code returns after 60 seconds, replace the key pad. If it continues to display F2/E6 after replacing the key pad, replace the oven control board. The parts can be ordered from Sears PartsDirect

NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the oven before servicing.

I keep getting a F6E5 error code on my Whirlpool stove. I have tried unplugging it (overnight) and the error won't go away. Any ideas before I call the repair man?

The error code F6E5 means "Cancel key error". Press the "Cancel" and "Start" keys in the following order: CANCEL, CANCEL, START. Verify the error code displayed on the control by observing for longer then 1 minute. If the error comes back then the control board needs to be replaced..

Code E0 and F2 with a little lock displayed on touch board of Whirlpool Gas Range. burners work but unable to operate the oven

You will need to press the cancel/stop button, this will clear the display and you will be allow to use the oven. If this does not work yoy will have to unplug the stove for five minutes and then plug back up and this should clear the display and allow the oven to work.

Kitchenaid gas/convection stove oven door locked & won't open

F5 - E7 Self clean latch will not unlock

Remedy:

1. If door latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to door switch, then from door switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Replace door switch.
  4. Re-apply power.
  5. Press and hold any key down for 1 minute to clear F5 failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
2. If door not latched:
  1. Disconnect power from unit.
  2. Check wires and connectors from control to latch switch, then from latch switch to control. If no damage to wires and all connectors okay, proceed to step C.
  3. Repeat steps A and B for door switch.
3. Measure door switch (door open = switch open small low voltage terminals). Replace switch if defective.
4. Measure latch switch (unlatch = switch open, CAUTION - oven light contacts are closed). Replace switch if defective.
5. If corrections are made in any step, reconnect power to control. Press and hold any key for 1 minute to clear R failure code from memory. F2 will appear. Press CANCEL and observe for 1 minute to ensure operation is correct.
6. If failure remains, disconnect power and replace control.

Note: Applies to all F5-E... codes.
