take of the plastic cover on top. there should be 3 bolts that hold on the starter tin (cover) turn it upside down and pull rope all the way out. have someone hold the plastic wheel inside so it does not unwind. it has tension on it. cut the knot on the inside and pull the old rope out. wind the spring spool up all the way and back it off to the first time the hole in the spool lines up with the hole in the tin. push the new rope through the hole in the tin and through the hole in the plastic spool. tie a knot in the end of the new rope and push it in the knot hole. put the pull rope handle grip back on. let go and be sure it pulls out and retracts good. put back on in reverse order of taking off.
You will have to remove the inside cover. After removing the inside cover then use a deep socket to take off the nuts holding the old mirror on. Then unplug the wires. As you put the new mirror on make sure it is square and streight. Before putting the inside cover back on make sure the mirror is working correctly. Then fasten up the cover and clean off the finger prints.
You can slide the silver plate straight back by gently pushing it from the top with your fingers. Once it slides off you will then be able to see the hooks that you put the new strings on (loop end strings). Once strings are tightened, you slide the cover back on the same way you slid it off. There is a small piece of felt glued to the cover. Be careful not to knock it loose when you are putting the cover on.
One other tip, change one string at a time instead of pulling all of them off at once. The bridge will come loose if you take all the strings off at once (it is not glued to the mandolin).
If this is a 2 cycle engine , which most weed eaters are, then it sounds like probably the piston is locked up inside the cylinder. Try taking the spark plug out. if it still will not pull out then take the recoil cover off. There should only be 4 screws holding it on. Once you get that off see if the string pulls out of recoil if it does then check to see if you can turn the crank on the engine. If the recoil string does not pull over then that needs to be repaired or replaced. If the crank on the engine will not turn over by hand then your engine is siezed. If you take the covers off to expose the exhaust there are 2 bolts that hold it on take those out and look inside. If you see vertical scoring on piston then your machine isnot worth fixing
1 Remove the cover from the side of the blower that contains
the pull start. This usually involves removing the self-tapping screws
that join the two halves of the blower housing together.
2
Remove the broken rope from the starter pulley. Usually the
rope is attached to the pulley with a simple overhand knot; just grab
the knot and pull the rope back through the hole in the pulley.
Sometimes the rope is attached to the pulley with a staple or some other
fastener, which you'll have to remove first.
3
Remove the handle from the replacement rope, if it's already attached.
4
Thread the end of the rope opposite the handle through the
hole in the starter pulley, working from the inside of the pulley (the
side facing in toward the engine).
5
Fasten the rope to the pulley. If it attaches with a knot,
simply tie an overhand knot, pull it tight and trim off any excess rope
sticking out of the knot. If it attaches with a fastener, replace the
fastener.
6
Wrap the rope counterclockwise around the pulley until the pulley is full; this usually involves one or two wraps.
7
Thread the free end of the rope through the hole in the blower housing.
8
Replace the blower housing and screw it in place.
9
Trim off excess rope, leaving about 6 inches of rope protruding from the blower housing.
10
Attach the handle to the starter rope. This typically
involves threading the rope through one or two holes in the handle and
securing with an overhand knot.
The pull string is probably tangled up. There are usually vents which enable you to see into the machines pull string assembly. Loosen the fasteners and pull off the cover exposing the pull string. You can unwind and untangle and then it should recoil perfectly. If that does not work continue to dismantle the pull string assembly because you probably have a broken starter pawl which is located on the back of the pull string assembly.
normaly there is 4 bolts holding the cover on take them out and the pull clutch in under there,,, put the string back in the cover and tighten the clutch up first so it pulls the strin in when you let it go,,,tiy a good knot in the pull start string or you will just pull it out again!
Hi:
The antenna is held down on the roof by 2 or 3 screws, and the antenna wire runs down the inside of the driver's side of the windshield pillar and comes out down by the fusebox, approx by the drivers knee area. When I changed mine, I took the lower plastic from the bottom of the driver's side dash off, so I could see what I was doing. It was only a few screws to get it off. Once I had the antenna lead loose from the back of my radio deck, I tied a piece of string to the end, then taped it in place, then pulled the old antenna out of the roof, pulling the string up with it. I attached the string to my new antenna, and used the string to pull it back down thru the windshield pillar. Fasten down the screws, connect it back to your radio, and you are good to go!
to just put the rope in take starter cover off look inside the cover and turn thr pully to the left counter clock wise turn till it turns no more line up the two hole one from the pully and one on the starter cover where the rope was originaly put the rope in thr hole and tie a knot this is called preload has to have tention on thr pully to pull the string back but if thr spring is broke its another process
