Hi in bottom right hand corner you have avg control center double click on this then click check for updates once this is done if its still not green and working then right click on email scanner then click properties then configure then defaults then ok this.
Now check if its running if not then right click again properties then help this will then tell you any settings and help you with this.
If still no luck then you might have to wait for an update as the new 8.0 has only just come out so might have few problems to start with so if you still have problem then send them an email but you might find it will update in the next day or two but get in touch with them if you have any concerns.
In the mean time ill find out what i can for you and post back here ok let me know how you get on ok
