How do you get to the coils on a Kenmore Elite upright freezer to clean them? The temp has gone up 23 degrees, and I read some where the coils might need cleaning, it's only 2 1/2 years old.

most all appliances are designed to be in an ambient not to exceed 80 degrees. Units will function but not up to design specs and would really strain to work. Only commercial unit can survive in temps up to 95 degrees in the Southeast U.S. and this temp varies depending on your general location.
Best way I can answer this is to purchase the right equipment for the job. A domestic freezer is not designed to work like that, although it may get there in temp it won't hold it. Recovery is slower then the industrial unit you seek. Domestic unit warranties are void if used for commercial settings (i.e. lunch rooms, offices, lab's, etc...) I wish I had a better answer for you but if you need a specific temperature get the correct equipment for the job. Good Luck
Hi, The walls are getting hot because that is where the condesor coils are. The condensor coils are where the heat is disperst that is trap as the coolant pumps through the evaporator coils inside. The fact that it is holding 0 degrees is a good sign. Is this freezer in a garage?
Check the door seals to make sure no heat is getting into the freezer other then when the door is opened.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
turns out the coils were not defrosting or at best working intermittently. I defrosted the coils and ordered a defrost timer the old timer continued to pop from intermittently.I replaced the defrost timer and it quit popping and noew the freezer works fine temps range between 9 degrees F and 14 degrees f.
