SOURCE: Parking brake hook up

This wire goes to the "Hot" side of the parking break switch... When the Parking Break is put on, a switch is closed, thus putting an "Earth" on this wire.. Ya can often bypass this by connecting to earth. Sometimes this wire can be "Hot" +12v so B4 doing anything with unit "On" check this wire for any Voltage.

How do I set the time on my Alpine iva-nav-10

This unit is not a marketed store-shelf item. It was a package included with the Tesla Roadster in their deluxe audio package. The equivalent public variation is the INA-W900, so you'd need to check that manual for any information. (or buy a Tesla).
What you are probably missing is the ability to enter the advanced options menus, without the parking wires installed correctly.
Try this to get to those features if you want a quick fix:

The switches are convenient, but you can just touch those two wires in that sequence to power and ground to access the menus once.

ok the parkbrake wire(yellow/blue) connects to the positive side of your parkbrake light on your dash board and the foot brake wire (yellow/black) to the positive side of one of your brake lights just identify the wires with a multi meter or current detcting screwdriver and cut into the wires where you can. hope that helps.

I have a alpine cva1003 and cant get the screen off safety mode to play the dvd's. I have the parking break wire from the radio, which is yellow and white connected to the single parking break wire. is...

In order for the video to work you need to hook up both the parking and the foot brake leads so you would have to press in the foot brake pull the ebrake let up on the foot brake then the video should come up but if u want to watch videos all the time moving or stopped youll need to do some custom work so:

Short of making a microprocessor to do the sequence the easiest way is the two switch method. just mount two switches together and do the sequence.

Although the idea of only one switch and the foot brake hooked up correctly might work too.

The best way to go about it is to hook up the system as is should be and use a voltmeter to see what voltage changes are on the lines. Then hook up the switches accordingly.

hope that helps!!

2001 chevy blazer motor still runs when foot on brake and key out of ingition

ignition switch is bad ... you should NOT be able to remove the key while running (safety feature on all US cars since 1970's).     Brake switch is hooked into ignition then to shift lever to prevent moving from park unless ke is on and brake is depressed ... your switch (or wiring, but probably switch) is shorted out and/or maybe has mechanical damage (from when the thief tryed to start it with a screwdrive?)
