I know this is an old post, but I still feel it will help to post my solution in case anyone else has this problem. I deleted the Samsung 4725fn PCL6 driver from each computer and added a Universal Print Driver from the Samsung website locally to each PC that connected to this printer via the network. So far, the Universal Driver has solved the End Of Job (EOJ) page from printing after each print job. Hopefully this will help someone else.

Last page when I print is a blank page with the text EOJ on the top left side. How do I get around that?

I posted this on a separate inquiry, but I feel it benefits to post twice. I deleted all the Samsung SCX 4725fn PCL6 drivers from the computers using the printer and loaded in from Samsung's website a Universal Print Driver. This took care of that pesky EOJ page and the print jobs come out great. Good luck!

Printing - print job arives @ printer no output

Sounds like a driver problem. Some printers require eoj (end of job) character & will wait forever.
Do a test print (search internet on how to print status page- usually button press combo). If you get a printout, you know the print engine is good.
If the printer is able to parse text, then try sending an ascii test file & see if anything prints. This will tell you whether it's a comm issue or rendering issue.

Extra Line when printing from a dos-based program

your printer paper size shorter than your PC dos-program print size setting, example: if use a letter size paper to print a A4 size file which should occur two paper go out..
so you need check your PC print setting or take a presetting paper size, make a size match between PC program and paper in printer .
hope you fix it, please take a rating let me know how much helped you thanks!

1600n Printing an Extra Page everytime...

I had a computer experiencing the same problem.
I found under the printer properties that there was 2 drivers listed; both say "Dell Laser MFP 1600n PCL 6"
I swtiched the settings from one to the other.
The Printing Preferences also show more options.

  • Open the Printer(Control Panel->Printers>Dell MFP 1600n)
  • On the menu at the top click Printer->Properties
  • Click the tab at the top Labeled Advanced
  • Change the driver and Click Apply
This should fix your problem.

I just bought a samsung scx-4725fn and want to set it up for my home network. There is no instructions on how to set it up so that all my computers in the network can print to it, not to connect it to one...

With the printer connected to the network, just install the drivers on each PC, and select "Network Printer" when prompted at install. The installer will search for the printer on the network and will probably find it. If not, you just need to provide the IP address of the printer. Assuming your network uses DHCP for addressing, the printer will have been provided an appropriate address automatically. You can find out what this address is by scrolling though the Network Setup menu on the device or by printing a network configuation page. Printing of this page is an option on the Reports menu.

Extra Line when printing from a dos-based program

well..that EOJ line, is possibly farther down in the program settings, and is like a page break. the Dell is only doing what it's reading, so the answer is in the programming of the application. Perhaps you might query that company about how well that program interfaces with the Postscript quality printer you have?
