I have the power head, wand & hose, exrra belt, 4 heps filters ans a spare main vacuum motor for Fantom Lightning. My main motor burned out. Found a used motor on Ebay. Went to change it and part of wiring was burned, so I decided not to rosk reairs with bad wiring. Power head was not attached at the time, so it is fine. I'll sell all together for a decent price, it you're interested.
The sounds like powerhead motor either burned up, or the belt broke and got tangled in the turning motor shaft. Pull the bottom off the power head and look for a curled up rubber band. If you find one, it's the belt.
If it's the motor, you won't hear it running when you turn the powerhead on.
depending on which powerhead you have the screw may be under the decal on top of the powerhead. you should be able to feel an indent above the motor. most of the other heads do not have a "hidden screw".
