Question about Computers & Internet

I recently ordered a Tutorial CD and am unable to play the *.mov files using the full version of Apple Quick Time 7.1.3 on my Windows XP laptop. When I try to convert the mov files using converting software, it says that it is not a mov file? How do I play it?

I just tried that already. I also tried the each of the advanced ouptut modes in the VLC player. Will it help if I upload the video to a site where they can test it online and see which software will open and play the file?

Ive even tried playing the files after copying them from the DVD to the hard disk drive. All video files on the DVD only play the start screen and the image stays the same when played. No sound or change of the first image. Have also tried Quick time Alternative. Have trouble identifying the original file extension and tried clicking on properties of the file and no info there too. Any website where I can help identify properly the correct extension of the file or find the appropriate codec to play it? I tried the windows media player link but it simply doesnt connect to the internet for some reason.

As Damen Wong said, VLC is one of the best choices for you to play the video file on the format of MOV. But you may fail to play MOV file on VLC because of Corrupted MOV files, Protected MOV files and Lack of MOV codec.

For playing mov files, If you want an online MOV player to play MOV files online, the best solution is to upload your MOV files onto a video sharing site that could act as MOV online player to let you watch MOV files online. And if you are restricted to the old thought of online video sharing sites accepting only FLV, F4V and MP4 videos, you will find no online video player to play MOV online. Also you could try leawo video converter, it is the right MOV converter you need to convert MOV files to any other video format like MP4, AVI, FLV, F4V, etc. in a few simple clicks. Included in Leawo Prof. Media, this HD MOV video converter is one of the function module of Leawo Prof. Media and performs excellent in converting videos in any format like MOV format.
