If the 6310 has been in service for awhile, the printhead runner dries out. Try liberally spraying the printhead runners with WD-40. With the power off, slide the carriage to the left and spray the runners in the parking area.
it may be the power supply itself! have any of you tried using a different power cord? the problem may not be in the printer but in the cord itself. i have 2 hp 6310's that were giving me the 'reset power' error. when i changed the POWER CORD, that error message went away and it went into the insert cartridges mode. good luck.
This model takes an extremely long time to shut down. I have had mine on for 2 years. because it takes way too long to start up and shut down. Still works fine.
If you really really want to power this unit down. Purchase a strip plug with power buttons for Monitor, CPU, Printer and Device 1 and 2. Shut down the PC normally then hit the Printer button on the strip plug. Viola printer off no worries.
menu window shows "shutting down...." but does not respond to anything. We cannot even turn printer off. Will not respond to any key. Help.
