Playstation 3 Internet is not working for my playstation 3 it works on the computer though, it can't obtain the IP address

sometimes the router can be set to high on the wireless security side of things for example WPASK wich is 256mb encription wireless aand some adapters do though you out!

ceck your router setings
delete wireless config from ps3 and try again

try using a modem, connecting a ethernet cable to your ps3 and computer, then your internet cable to your computer and modem. it should work after that.

When you put the IP address in you also have to add your DNS settings. easiest way to find your DNS server address is to use an XP based machine and type "ipconfig /all" it will list all of the properties of your computers network card. thake those DNS address' and plug them into your PS3.

Your pc might be using a static IP address. Make sure its on automatic. Go to Control Panel, Network Connections. Right-click on Local Area Connection and click Properties. Look for Internet Protocol TCP/IP and double click it. Select Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Servers Automatically. Click OK all the way out. Also disable any firewall you have like Norton Firewall, McAffe, Zone Alarm and the likes.

Perhaps resetting the router will solve your problem. Have you tried that?

Try swapping the ends of the ethernet cable between your PS3 and the router. Otherwise, try a different ethernet cable. Also check that there are lights on by your ethernet port on the PS3 and the router.

wonderful! that's always a good thing to hear - sometimes it is the "make sure you're power cord is plugged in" problem, eh :)

1. Make sure that wireless settings are properly synchronized.
>> ssid/security key.
2. Check your computers wireless connection status
> Make sure that it is set to "obtain ip address automatically)
3. If still not working if computer is set to obtain ip automatically, try assigning static ip on wireless pc
> You need to know your router's ip address and dns
4. Disable firewall on wireless pc.
