LC-46D64U Came home after work today and wanted to watch a little TV before dinner. The Sharp 46" LCD we bought in January started to come on like normal then shut down completely. The green power light on the front of the TV is flashing and nothing works at all now. I unplugged it for several minutes to see if it would reset, plugged it back in and it still does not work. I called the Best Buy Service department and they are sending someone out in a couple of days to look at it. This is irritating to say the least!
I have the LC-46d62u model and once a week for the last 2 weeks I turned it on after being off for about 24 hours and all i got was grey and black horizontel lines .Not communication at all with the TV.I have to unplug it and then it is fine.Is this leading up to something serious? Is anyone here willing to sell me their LC-46D62U HDTV? I realize that your TV may not work, which is why your are viewing this page, but that's okay, because mine is also broken. My LCD broke and I would like to replace it with a working one from the exact same model HDTV, but without paying full price. So if you have a broken LC-46D62U HDTV with a working LCD, then I would be interested in buying the TV from you. I live in Colorado, so the closer you are the better (I'm sure shipping will be expensive). It is always irritating when a TV stops working. Most likely it is a board failure. The service tech should be able to service this by swapping out the failed board(s).

In order to restore functionality will have to replace MAIN UNIT. Depending on the version of your TV it could be DUNTKE207FM01, DUNTKE207FM01S, DUNTKE558FM01, DUNTKE558FM01S.
A 46'' TV is zooming all the defects, to make sure is not a problem with your tv, try with a DVD Player using at least a set of Component cable or HDMI will be the best way to test it.
Sorry to say, it's pretty much toast. The screen is most of the cost of an LCD TV, so if it gets physically damaged you're better off replacing the set.
I'm curious if getting a replacement lcd panel for a 46" TV is not a problem, how difficult is it to replace it yourself. That is remove a cracked one and replace it with a new one.
