The red lines on the grid will not line up. They are curved, the ones on the top curve up and the ones on the bottom curve down. We have replace the stk's. What could be the problem?
red lines across screen
EXACTLY it Big Irish!! Different levels + different bleed level. Tube means this set is shot to snot to me unless rejuv works. Can you please post HOW to rejuv a tube? For that matter - what is rejuv? :D
Thanks!
Good Day y'all;
First of all if the lights are on, that's good, the red light,LED's, indicates that there is power to the power regulator IC. The green lights, LED's, indicate that the DC voltages are present for those particular circuits. ALL GOOD! If off bad!
If after replacing the IC's with the 150's and still have color shift and all resistors are within 2% tolerance and adjustments were made properly. The digital convergence board may be defective.
If the picture is bleeding that normally is a gassy CRT, picture tube, and the bleeding changes with the brightness levels. You may try to rejuv but that may short life the tube.
Good Luck, get back if you want more details, Big Irish.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago, it is a defect in the TV. Contact Hitachi it's a convergence issue they will do everything to tell you it's wear but that is not true. I made a big deal about it and finally after contacting many people and doing much research on the problem Hitachi agreed to paid for the part which costs $360.00 Cdn. However, they did not pay labour (only $65.00). Hope this helps.

I have absolutely the same problem
Denys
I have the same exact problem but the lines on my tv are blue....
I have what I htink is the same problem - about mid set with back cover removed, can you please tell me if you have a small RED LED that is illuminated beside the flyback regulator? The flyback regulator is stuck to one of the oddly shaped heat sinks about middle of the set near the back, if you can read the writing on yours it'd have STR F6628 SK2406 on it. I'm thinking that the little red LED beside mine, when all other LED's in there are green, must be telling me something.
I hope it's JUST the STRF6628 - I can find those and that would be an easy replacement also....
I have already replaced my STK392-110's with STK392-150's and all resistors are in spec....nothing burned at all....still the annoying red bleeding on the odd picture...
I have the exact same problem. The red will not line up.
