Hi,

Check if the unit has a Filter Timer ? If it does have one - check the hours on it and reset it.

If the problem still occurs or there is no filter timer in the Menu - check that all your fans are running.

Hope this is of help

Goodluck,

try cleaning the filter and if you still face the problem then you will have to get it serviced or replace it if it still under warranty

BenQ w1080st. Just replaced lamp, after it has been working fine until bulb broke. Now green temp light comes on and screen goes dark after 3-4 min?

The green temp light indicates that the fan isn't working; some models have 2 fans. The fan cools the projector lamp and protects the unit from damage. When the fan isn't working, the projector turns off to keep the temperature from continuing to rise. This information is available on page 52 of the User Manual available here: https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/downloads-faq/products/projector/w1080st/manual.html . The current link to the manual is https://esupportdownload.benq.com/esupport/Projector/UserManual/Projector_um_User%20Manual_20130529_114725W1070_W1080ST_EN.pdf . The recommended solution is a service call.

If your projector is out of warranty and not covered by a repair plan, I found several sources for the replacement fan with a Google search. IFixit has some videos for taking apart the projector to clean it and replace the fan on some BenQ projectors.

I hope this helps.

Can I replace the fan and how do I do it for a Benq PE8700

If the lamp LED flashes red, it indicates that the front cover is not installed properly, the fan is not working, the translation board is defective or the ventilation holes are blocked.

The first thing I would try is to remove the lamp assembly and try reinstalling. (Did you purchase a genuine BenQ lamp assembly)?

If ok, you can download a service manual here (but be advised, this is not for the unqualified. You should seek repair through your dealer).

My Benq projector is cutting off part of the screen image (the top and bottom)...I've tried adjusting the resolution on my computer, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

when you say its cutting off the image, do you mean it is blanking the top and bottom off the picture. Is the image that is displayed on the computer the same as on the projector or is it just a cinemascope version of the computer screen

My BenQ PE7700 stops working after a couple seconds.

the lamp is running too warm from inability to cool down. clean out the dust with canned air and check the fans. the temp sensor may need to be replaced, as the heat may have desroyed it.

Benq pb8250 , red light blinking

you have a problem with either the fans, the ballast, or the colorwheel. if the fans turn on, listen for a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel. if you do, replace the ballast. if the fans don't spin, replace them.

Thin vertical line appears on projector

I have found that vertical lines that suddenly appear from projectors are due to poorly connected cables. Sut off your projector and wait for the fan to go off. Then unplug the connectors from the computer to the projector and secure them again, making sure to go all the way. Hope this helps.
