Dvd player connected to panasonic viera. picture has blue skin tones and picture isn't centered

I always try the simple things first. check the connection. if hdmi .. then try a differnt cable.
It almost sounds as if one of your connections is plugged in the wrong place.

On component.. red to red, green to green and blue to blue .. then the extra red and white go to the video part .. also may want to check the tv manual - sometimes they share those connections with regular rca connection and easy to plug in wrong place.

Rca connetions - Yellow is video - red and white audio.

S video - one big plug and then red and white audio - make sure the big plug is fully in on both devices - I've seen similar things with s-video plug not fully connected on one end or the other.

Good Luck,
Bill.

How do you know if you need to replace the fluid? can you show me some pics of good red green blue color or some bad colors

If the glycol is bad, there is a easy way to tell:

Remove the back cover and with the set on use a small mirror--put it over each of the three Lens--red will never be bad this way.

What you want to see is a green picture on the green tube and a blue picture on the blue tube.

If instead of a picture either the green or blue look like a floodlight with no picture--the glycol is contaminated.

What happens is bacteria grows in the blue or green glycol--never the red--for some reason it does not like the red color.

Usually the blue will be the one first affected---picture will have a yellowish look over most or all of the screen (turn the color all the way down and stand back at least 10 feet and look at it,

Changing Glycol involves some important things---this stuff is like antifreeze bit ten times more toxic.

If you find yellow and want to know what is really involved respond to this posting and I will assist you.

If this information told you something you did not know, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

I hear the volume but have no picture on the screen

The video may be plugged into input 1 and the audio into input 2. This could be a million different things.
If using Component video (green, blue, red, RCA cables) check to be sure the Green cable is set all the way on both sides. The green cable sends the sync and without it you will have NO picture.

Kp-65w500 green flash... led blinks 8 times

I am going to guess that model number is actually KP-65ws500

This is one of group of Sony sets that had bad picture tubes---red, green, blue----the tubes are no longer available and can only be obtained by removing the bad one and sending it out for rebuild (very expensive)

There is one easy thing you may be able to do to correct this problem---It involves no replacement of parts and is just adjusting the Green screen control---usually if this is the case when set comes on background will be somewhat (in your case) green---best way to see this is turn set on and have it on a unused video input---if screen appears somewhat green and has curved retrace lines--you may be able to turn the Green screen control down and continue to use the set---set will shut down if any of the 3 picture tubes pulls too much current--ie--goes to bright green, red or blue.

Let me know if you want to know how to attempt this

Blue crt shot

The coolant in the blue tube has no doubt congealed to an oatmeal like consistancy. Did you notice things like blue halos around things for some period of times. change the coolant. that should correct the blue. this is a common thing for that model as well as all TVs. Blue and green has this happen, Red seems to not have the same trait.
