My ice maker inst working Whirlpoo; model gz25fsrxyy2

By "ice maker isn't working" do you mean it isn't filling with water, it isn't freezing the water in the ice maker, it isn't dumping the ice cubes into the bin, or it isn't dispensing ice cubes?
Was it previously working and it is not working now?

Typically one can hear the valve when it opens to fill the ice maker with water. Can you hear it attempting to do so? If so, and there isn't any water in the ice tray, check that there is water supplied to the valve at the wall and the valve is open. Is there a water filter? Has it been replaced per the manufacturer's recommendation? (Typically, the water filter should be replaced every six months.)

Is the "full" bar pushed up? It shouldn't be. The bar above the ice cubes should not be in the horizontal position. That position tells the ice maker the bin is full so it should wait until the bar goes down, indicating some ice has been used.

Can you hear the bayonet turning? Is the ice maker attempting to dump out cubes whether or not they exist? The next issue after you confirm there is water going into the ice maker that is being frozen and the ice maker knows to dump the ice, is the bayonet. There is a motor that turns the bayonet and a mechanical connection. Either could be at fault.

Frigidaire ice maker model jbnd-28 stopped working

Hello - If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, please check these, in this order:

It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again.

Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

When was the last time the filter was changed? Most side-by-side filters are recommended to be change approximately every 6-9 months depending on your water usage and frequency. A clogged water filter or a blocked supply water valve may also lead to low ice production.

The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts!

Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

Should these suggestions prove to be ineffective, contact a professional to diagnose the unit.

Water dispensing into ice maker won't shut off

There should be a float or electronic water level sensor that will tell the water to shut off, if it has calcium from the water on it or the float is damaged it will keep sending water until manually shut off(pull the plug). I would look for a water level sensor of some sort and clean or replace it. If that doesn't work it could be a sticking water fill solonoid which you should then replace

My model is 596-50699001 and the problem is does't do ice, and change a filter what can I do to fix it ? Thankyou for helpingg me

There three problem that will not make your ice maker to make ice.

If the water’s route is blocked or the solenoid doesn’t work

If the bail wire is lifted—the ice maker won’t make ice.

Your home’s water pressure must be strong enough to serve an ice maker.

For your ice maker to maker ice,
be sure the bail wire above the ice tray is in the down position.

If the ice maker doesn’t make ice but you can see the arm swing into motion and you hear a buzz for about 10 seconds after it is finished, the water valve is asking for water that isn’t arriving. This means the valve and the solenoid are probably okay, but the water supply is not. Be sure the water supply line isn’t kinked behind or beneath the refrigerator (1/4-inch copper tubing is much better than plastic fill line).

Also, check to see if something has caused ice to back up around the mechanism—this can cause the fill tube to freeze, blocking the mechanism. When ice cubes are small and seem to be getting smaller, it generally indicates a frozen fill tube.

Check the water line that enters the back of the freezer for a blockage. Find the water shut-off valve behind the refrigerator or under the sink, turn it off, unscrew the copper line from the back of the refrigerator, put the copper line in a bucket, turn on the valve, and see if pressurized water pours out.

The water line attaches to a solenoid at the back of the refrigerator and then travels to the ice maker. The solenoid may be defective or may not be receiving power. You can try removing the sediment screen inside the solenoid and flushing it with water to clean it, and at the same time you can inspect any seals or diaphragms to ensure that they are sound. Unplug the refrigerator first.

Check the tap valve; a bad tap valve may cause the problem where the ice maker supply tube connects to the water pipe. If necessary, replace the inlet valve and the tap valve. For the tap valve, use the type that requires you to drill a 1/4-inch hole (as opposed to the “self-piercing” type). You can do this yourself, or call a repair person or plumber to install an inline water filter when replacing the valve.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.

Hello jitkagardner,
Welcome

You said, The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.

How old is the fridge?
When have you last changed the water filter.
Should be down below at the front grille!
Try these tasks!

If the ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice
Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.
• Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce
water flow. Straighten the water source line.
• Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch
(depending on model) is in the ON position.
• New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation
for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice
production.
• Freezer door closed completely? Firmly close the freezer
compartment door. If the freezer compartment door will not
close all the way, see "The doors will not close completely."
• Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for
ice maker to produce more ice.
• Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm?
Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil.
• Water filter installed on the refrigerator? Remove filter and
operate ice maker. If ice volume improves, then the filter may
be clogged or incorrectly installed. Replace filter or reinstall it
correctly.
• Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure.

Let me know how it goes!

Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.
