No It's not virus . It is issue of ip address in your computer. You can set ip address with 2 method static and DHCP. For DHCP you need to enable it in router. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on DHCP and enable so you can get ip from router.Enable "ip get automatic in network adapter tcp ip property. If you want to ser static ip in tcp ip then gateway ip set to router ip if your router ip is 192.168.1.1 then your computer ip is 192.168.1.3 subnetmask 255.255.255.0 and gateway as 192.168.1.1 Then you can access internet Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

What is the default IP address of D-Link DES-1024R for accessing from PC for switch management?

the usual ip add of a Hub or Router or Switch is either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. to determine the Ip Add you can check it - Start - Run (for XP) - type Run in the search box and use the Run command - in the Run Box type in "CMD" - a small black box will pop up (that's the command prompt) - then type in "ipconfig" - look for the "default gateway" that's the ip add of the switch or hub or router.
Hope this helps

My D-Link DES-1024D can't assign ip addresses to client computer automatically anymore. how will i resolve it?

You switch does not provide DHCP services (assigning of IP Addresses). That is done by either your router or a server on your network.

Only 8 port working . why other ports are not working?

You haven't supplied any detail on exactly what "not working" means. If you get lights when you plug something in but nothing can connect, it may have features such as Vlan enabled. Can you get to the administration console to reset to factory defaults? Otherwise google to find the user manual and perform a factory reset. Here is one link I found:

HI, I have D-link DES 3026 manageable switch. i want to configure this switch.........In that we have to assign our IP....... I dont know how to assign the IP........ I have WAN IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway...

Normally most internal LAN addressing is carried out by a DHCP server which issues IP addresses to anything that is connected to the network.
IE your computer. most switches are set to obtain an IP address from them as a default. to find the IP address of youe switch you need to look at your DHCP server ( possibly your router/modem) and see what addresses have been issued. Once you have found the address it is a simple task to open your internet browser and type in the ip address of your switch. once there you should be able to configure your switch as per your requirements.

When i get connected to d-link des 1008d switch port the computer will get automatically configured 255.255.0.0 to subnet mask therefore i have class c ip address and i dont have internet connection...

u no need to worry about the subnet mask 255.255.0.0
just do the following connections
  1. connect a utp cable from modem/router to dlink switch.
  2. connect a utp cable from switch to ur pc
Assign ur pc manually with following configuration

ip: 192.168.100.5
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.100.1

and your router with ip: 192.168.100.1 And enable pppoe in ur router.

Thats it you are connected to internet. No need to enable ics etc.

I have a D-Link DES-1108 Ethernet switch. I have my switch plugged into my router and i know the cable has connection but it still won't issue me an IP. Auto-negotiation is enabled on my router but it...

To determine if the router or the Ethernet switch is faulty.
Disconnect the Ether switch and connect the computer to the router and see if it connects to the Internet.
Next if you have a couple of computers, connect them to the Ether switch and see if the computers can communicate with each other. You may need to configure the LAN cards with a fix IP address (say 192.168.0.XX each computer must have a different XX number). Remember to change the TCP/IP configuration back to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
If these test are OK then the problem is the connection or route configuration. You do not need a crossover cable between the router and switch.
Get back to me with the results of the tests then I can advise you what to do next.

Help no connection

Check the cabling. Could possibly be a broken pair in the cable. Make sure all ends are not damaged.
