I have an m4002a and when I connect it to the computer and open up windows media player to sync songs, the screen on the mp3 player goes dark and windows says there is no device attatched. I haven't installed the CD on my laptop, but I have absolutely no way of doing that. how can I get songs on and fix my problem or how do I get a free trial or a new CD download without having to purchase anything. please help me!!
P.S. if I don't try to open up windows, it stays on, but once it is opened and the mp3 screen says transferring, shortly after it goes dark
Mine did the same thing. I'm guessing that there is a firmware issue, as this seems to be a common problem with these units. If I were you, I'd keep checking back with the RCA website and see if they have updated the firmware from what you have (most likely 2.3) Good luck!
