I have a Black and Dekker all-in-one Breadmaker B2200. The manual has very few recipes so I often use the recipes from my previous Breadmaker B1650. It had an Add Ingredients alert (to let you add nuts etc. Late in the mix cycle so they wouldn't get too crushed) but the newer model does not. Also the newer model has much shorter mixing and baking cycles. Is it ok to add nuts raisins etc. Along with other ingredients at the start of the B2200 cycle?

NO, it;s better to wait until kneading has started. If it has a second kneading add then. If not, add in a few minutes after ingredients have started mixing. Just lift the lid and drop them in as it mixes.

SOURCE: I have a Sunbeam Model

liquids, dry ingredients, then yeast last

when adding yeast, make a sort of crater in the middle of the dry ingredients and put the yeast in that pit

if recipe has salt, sprinkle it around the outside of the dry ingredients so that it's away from the yeast; helps the bread rise better

Hi Bev. We're in Nowra NSW. If you want a manual for this model, which should give you more details, I have a copy that I can email to you. It's less than 800kB. It has recipes for white loaves and others.

Gluten free recipes for a B1650

Gluten free recipes are thicker and stickier than wheat and will probably wreck your bread maker. I had a 2500 model and it broke while making a gluten free bread, so yours will likely be the same. I found it best to keep the dough more liquidy than solid to avoid extra strain on the motor and paddles, but it will affect the outcome. There are lots of gluten free recipes on the internet, just do a simple web search.

We haven't used our Black & Decker B2200 breadmaker for a few years. When we did, liquid and uncooked flour were left at the end of the cooking process. Could this be due to lack of use? If

When your machine started kneading did you notice if the ingredients were actually mixing? Sometimes the drive belts on bread machine break and there is no mixing (the paddle doesn't spin around)

I require a manual for a Black & Decker all-in-one deluxe automatic breadmaker. B1640 type 1

Was not able to locate manual for the B1640; perhaps the manual for the following will be sufficiently similar to be of assistance.

Orange Poppy Seed Breakfast Bread from Black and Decker Model B2200 breadmaker - came out very stodgy and heavy - dough was not properly cooked? Any ideas. Also - recipe from same book which came with...

Could be old flour or old yeast, not enough fluid. And the temperature of your kitchen.
Usually half a cup of raisins and usually there is a beep when to add, but can be added the second knead cycle. depends on the recipes. Also, I find that if you roll the raisins in a dusting of flour it helps them distribute through the loaf better.

Dough not rising

Hi,
Are you using yeast that has not past it's expiry date? Using bread machine yeast that has not past it's expiry date will give you better results. I switched to the bread machine yeast and had much better results. Also make sure the ingredients are for the right size loaf. The ones that come with your breadmaker are made specificaly for your machine. Make sure you are choosing recipes that are in the same quantities for the bread cycle you are choosing. I hope this helps. I have included the link to the manual for your machine in case you don't have one.
